The Forever Purge - Review

In the Theme Of...

Recently, I made a post titled. "Predictive Programming 101 - From the Beginning" where I spoke about how Hollywood "programs" society through the pop culture media. Basically, and I showed in my post that academics do studies on this theory, is that the "mainstream" pushes the media they want to be pushed in order to regulate and control the society at large. When I watched "The Forever Purge," I was not disappointed in the "pushing of the narrative," however, the movie itself was lacking in imagination, for the most part.

Racism!

Unfortunately, yes, this is the main theme throughout this movie, although there is a heavy emphasis on the "haves" and "have nots" as well. Overall the plot theme is that there are "factions" that have developed over the years since the "Purge" started, and over time, they developed a plan to take over America and "Purge" the country of "undesirables." Of course, the factions are all "white supremacists..."

Atypical...

Seriously, this movie could not have been more predictable and honestly, I am not even going to write much of a review for it. Yes, there were some good scenes, especially the dystopian scenes, but the overuse of "white people" as the bad guys really put me off. Being an American, I can tell you that there is hatred here, but the "white guy" is far from the universal demon that Hollywood and mainstream media try to portray him as. Most people here with a Swastika tattooed on their face are ostracized and hated, but in this movie, you would think they were everywhere. Overall, this movie was ok as far as action, and very sad as far as plot, at least in my opinion.
