Вчора я переглянула український історичний драматичний фільм, який нещодавно вийшов у прокат "Щедрик".

Yesterday I watched the recently released Ukrainian historical drama film "Carol of the Bells".

В центрі уваги три сім'ї, що живуть в сучасному Івано-Франківську (раніше - Станіславів). 1939-й рік. Українці, поляки та євреї. Внаслідок нападу Німеччини на Радянський Союз під час Другої світової війни, у 1941-му, двоє дівчаток з єврейської сім'ї залишились без батьків. Їх прихистила українська сім'я і переховувала в себе, разом з тим дівчата дружно жили з двома іншими дівчатами, рідною донькою українки і її племінницею-полькою. Головна героїня - мати (українка) - навчала чотирьох дівчат співати, і головним лейтмотивом у фільмі є пісня "Щедрик". Сім'я важко переживала окупацію німцями, але ще більші випробування випали їм після деокупації і приходу радянської влади...
The focus is on three families living in modern Ivano-Frankivsk (formerly Stanislaviv). 1939 year. Ukrainians, Poles and Jews. As a result of Germany's attack on the Soviet Union during the Second World War, in 1941, two girls from a Jewish family were left without parents. They were sheltered by a Ukrainian family and hid in themselves, at the same time the girls lived together with two other girls, the native daughter of a Ukrainian woman and her Polish niece. The main character - mother (Ukrainian) - taught four girls to sing, and the main leitmotif in the film is the song "Schedrik". The family had a hard time surviving the occupation by the Germans, but even greater trials fell upon them after de-occupation and the arrival of Soviet power...

Як саме показані події в сюжеті розповідати не буду. Головна тема фільму про те, що неможливо знищити національну ідентичність зміною влади, насаджуванням "нових" правил та пропагандою. Національна ідентичність тут відображена саме "Щедриком" Миколи Леонтовича.
Мені цей фільм видався дуже схожим на стрічку про кримських татар "Чужа молитва", я навіть подумала, що режисери або сценаристи ті ж самі, але ні. Та ідея і хід подій тут дуже подібні, наче "почерк" один і той же.
Рекомендую подивитись всім, кому цікаве українське кіно, мені сподобалось.
I will not tell how exactly the events are shown in the plot. The main theme of the film is that it is impossible to destroy national identity by changing the government, imposing "new" rules and propaganda. National identity is reflected here precisely by Mykola Leontovych's "Carol of the Bells".
To me, this film seemed very similar to the film about the Crimean Tatars "87 Children", I even thought that the directors or screenwriters were the same, but no. But the idea and course of events here are very similar, as if the "handwriting" is the same.
I recommend watching it to everyone who is interested in Ukrainian cinema, I liked it.
