Hola de nuevo! Hoy Les traigo un post bastante genial en el cual hablo de una película de Disney Channel que vi recientemente y de verdad me gustó mucho la cual es Jump In. Esta película me gustaba demasiado haciendo que llegara a practicar saltar en dos cuerdas. La reseña de esta película va a abrir una puerta a mi blog para hablar sobre películas de Disney Channel y saber si son tan buenas como las recordamos. Así que bueno Hoy les quiero hablar sobre esta película que de verdad habla de temas muy interesantes para hacer abarcado a un público infantil, eso si, siendo totalmente objetiva con su desarrollo, Comencemos!

Hello again! Today I bring you a pretty cool post in which I talk about a Disney Channel movie that I recently watched and really liked which is Jump In. I liked this movie too much making me get to practice jumping on two ropes. The review of this movie is going to open a door for my blog to talk about Disney Channel movies and if they are as good as we remember them. So well today I want to talk about this movie that really talks about very interesting topics to make it encompass a child audience, that if, being totally objective with its development, Let's start!

Jump In es una película estadounidense cuyo género no sabría especificar (según Wikipedia es comedia, pero mezcla aspectos musicales y algo de drama) estrenada en 2007 por Disney Channel transmitida en formato televisivo. Es dirigida por Paul Hoen y protagonizada por los actores Corbin Bleu y Keke Palmer los cuales personifican a Izzy Daniels y Mary Thomas. Actualmente está disponible en la plataforma de streaming Disney+.
Jump In is an American film whose genre I could not specify (according to Wikipedia is comedy, but mixes musical aspects and some drama) released in 2007 by Disney Channel broadcast in television format. It is directed by Paul Hoen and stars actors Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer as Izzy Daniels and Mary Thomas. It is currently available on the Disney+ streaming platform.
La película comienza narrada por una voz que no sabemos de quien es al principio. Izzy Daniels es un chico que vive en Brooklyn donde hace vida con su padre y su hermanita menor, ya que su madre murió recientemente. Él practica boxeo siendo entrenado por su padre. Izzy tiene una amiga llamada a Mary que con su grupo de amigas practican el doble salto, qué consiste en hacer trucos mientras saltan con dos cuerdas. Ellas lo practican profesionalmente pero Izzy no se toma ese deporte en serio, de hecho se burla de ellas por eso. Sin embargo, un día la hermanita de Izzy quiere ir a un torneo local de doble salto y este debe acompañarla. En ese concurso participa Mary y sus amigas, y mientras Izzy está en el público se sorprende de lo increíble que es ese deporte, dándose cuenta de que no lo había apreciado antes debido a sus prejuicios. No obstante, las chicas quedan en cuarto lugar en el concurso, y sus principales contrincantes son las que ganan.
The film begins narrated by a voice that we don't know whose voice it is at first. Izzy Daniels is a boy who lives in Brooklyn where he lives with his father and his younger sister, since his mother died recently. He practices boxing being trained by his father. Izzy has a friend named Mary who with her group of friends practice double jumping, which consists of doing tricks while jumping with two ropes. They practice it professionally but Izzy doesn't take the sport seriously, in fact she makes fun of them for it. However, one day Izzy's little sister wants to go to a local double jump tournament and Izzy has to go with her. Mary and her friends participate in the contest, and while Izzy is in the audience she is surprised at how amazing the sport is, realizing that she hadn't appreciated it before because of her prejudices. However, the girls come in fourth place in the contest, and their main opponents are the ones who win.
Un día una de las integrantes del grupo de las chicas renuncia para irse con el equipo rival y Mary está desesperada ya que les hace falta un integrante más para formar su equipo. A Mary se le ocurre invitar a Izzy al equipo ya que él para calentar en sus entrenamientos de boxeo, salta la cuerda de vez en cuando. Izzy está muy renuente a unirse al equipo con Mary sin embargo, después de varios intentos para convencerlo Izzy acepta dándose cuenta de que es muy bueno en el doble salto, y una amiga boxeadora llamada Tammy lo descubre pero le guarda el secreto. El equipo de chicas y nuestro protagonista llegan a un acuerdo de hacer ensayos juntos, pero Izzy tiene que hacerlo a escondidas ya que su principal deporte es el boxeo y su padre (y todos, al parecer) no estaría de acuerdo de que practicara doble salto. Conocemos a un personaje importante el cual es Rodney, el bully de la escuela de Izzy que también hace boxeo, suele meterse mucho con Izzy pero mas a delante nuestro protagonista descubre que sus problemas de ira son debido a que tiene problemas en su casa, empatizando con él. Nuestro protagonista descubre una gran pasión por el doble salto pero tiene que seguir con el boxeo ya que es lo que su padre quiere.
One day one of the members of the girls' group quits to join the rival team and Mary is desperate because they need one more member to form their team. Mary comes up with the idea of inviting Izzy to join the team since he jumps rope from time to time to warm up during boxing practice. Izzy is very reluctant to join the team with Mary however, after several attempts to convince him Izzy agrees realizing that he is very good at double jumping, and a boxer friend named Tammy finds out but keeps it a secret from him. The team of girls and our protagonist come to an agreement to rehearse together, but Izzy has to do it on the sly since his main sport is boxing and his father (and everyone else, it seems) would not agree to his double jumping. We meet an important character which is Rodney, the bully at Izzy's school who also does boxing, he tends to pick on Izzy a lot but later our protagonist discovers that his anger problems are because he has problems at home, empathizing with him. Our protagonist discovers a great passion for double jumping but has to stick with boxing as it is what his father wants.
La presión hace que Izzy no rinda en la escuela y en el boxeo debido a que los ensayos del doble salto son muy temprano y esto lo agota físicamente. Él sigue practicando con sus amigas y un día Rodney lo encuentra con las chicas y le toma fotografías con una cámara digital. Al día siguiente Izzy nota que por toda la escuela hay fotos de él haciendo doble salto y todos se ríen de él. El padre descubre que su hijo está practicando doble salto y lo regaña, sin embargo Izzy lo enfrenta diciéndole que ser boxeador es el sueño de su papá pero no él. Más adelante, Izzy tiene una pelea de boxeo con Rodney (una revancha, ya que Izzy le había ganado antes), Izzy le da una buena pelea Rodney esquivando sus ataques y le dice a este último ya no quiere pelear, que esta cansado de sentir odio, dejando a Rodney sorprendido. Izzy luego de dudar llega al torneo importante para no defraudar a las chicas y en dicho torneo asisten los amigos boxeadores de Izzy, su padre y sorpresivamente Rodney. Ahí todos se dan cuenta de que Izzy es increíble en el doble salto. El padre le pide disculpas a Izzy y se hace amigo de Rodney. El equipo de Mary e Izzy al final gana ese torneo para darnos cuenta al final de que toda la historia está narrada por el mismísimo Rodney que está contándole todo a unos niños, dando fin a la película.
The pressure makes Izzy not perform in school and in boxing because the double jump rehearsals are too early and this exhausts him physically. He continues to practice with his friends and one day Rodney finds him with the girls and takes pictures of him with a digital camera. The next day Izzy notices that all over school there are pictures of him double jumping and everyone laughs at him. The father discovers that his son is practicing double jumping and scolds him, however Izzy confronts him by telling him that being a boxer is his dad's dream but not him. Later, Izzy has a boxing match with Rodney (a rematch, since Izzy had beaten him before), Izzy gives him a good fight Rodney dodging his attacks and tells the latter he doesn't want to fight anymore, that he is tired of feeling hate, leaving Rodney surprised. Izzy after hesitating arrives at the important tournament not to disappoint the girls and in this tournament Izzy's boxer friends, his father and surprisingly Rodney attend. There they all realize that Izzy is amazing at double jumping. The father apologizes to Izzy and befriends Rodney. Mary and Izzy's team finally wins that tournament only to realize at the end that the whole story is narrated by Rodney himself who is telling everything to some kids, ending the movie.
Se me complicó un poco buscar a absolutamente todo el elenco, así que solo nombraré a los personajes más relevantes los cuales son Izzy Daniels interpretado por Corbin Bleu, un chico que se dedica al boxeo pero que al comenzar a practicar doble salto se da cuenta que este otro deporte lo apasiona, pero que sigue con el boxeo para hacer feliz a su padre y a los demás. Mary Thomas interpretada por Keke Palmer, amiga (luego novia) de Izzy la cual se toma muy en serio el deporte del doble salto, con un carácter fuerte pero que a su vez es apasionada y dedicada. Rodney Tyler interpretado por Patrik Johnson Jr, es el chico bully de la escuela y compañero de boxeo de Izzy, es un chico problemático pero cuyo carácter aunque no está justificado, tiene una razón de ser. David Reivers como Kenneth Daniels, el papá de Izzy cuya vida tomo un giro drástico luego de la muerte de su esposa, teniendo que cuidar a sus dos hijos. También esta Tammy Lewis interpretada por Rebecca Williams, la cual es amiga de Izzy, practica boxeo y aunque no aparezca mucho, es muy importante para ayudar a Izzy a comprender de que a pesar de lo que digan los demás, debe seguir su pasión, ya que ella misma sabe lo que es que se burlen de ella debido a ser mujer y boxeadora.
It was a little complicated to find absolutely all the cast, so I will only name the most relevant characters which are Izzy Daniels played by Corbin Bleu, a boy who is dedicated to boxing but when he starts practicing double jump he realizes that he is passionate about this other sport, but he continues with boxing to make his father and others happy. Mary Thomas played by Keke Palmer, Izzy's friend (later girlfriend) who takes the sport of double jumping very seriously, with a strong character but at the same time is passionate and dedicated. Rodney Tyler played by Patrik Johnson Jr, the school bully and Izzy's boxing partner, is a troubled kid whose character, though unjustified, has a reason for being. David Reivers as Kenneth Daniels, Izzy's dad whose life took a drastic turn after the death of his wife, having to take care of his two children. There is also Tammy Lewis played by Rebecca Williams, who is Izzy's friend, she practices boxing and although she doesn't appear much, she is very important to help Izzy understand that despite what others say, she must follow her passion, since she herself knows what it's like to be made fun of because she is a woman and a boxer.

Esta película esta ambientada en Brooklyn, conocida por ser una ciudad movida donde los entornos nos hacen resaltar que los personajes que aparecen en la película viven en una zona un tanto difícil, ademas de que se escuchan sonidos de sirenas todo el tiempo, para hacernos recordar que es un lugar un poco conflictiva, todos estos elementos nos hacen entrar en el contexto en el que viven los personajes. En cuanto a la música me parece lo mejor, a diferencia del reciente éxito de ese momento como lo fue High School Musical, la música de la película la usan para ambientar, y créanme, todavía me acuerdo con cariño de las canciones, de hecho las canté mientras veía la película.
This film is set in Brooklyn, known for being a lively city where the environments make us highlight that the characters who appear in the film live in a somewhat difficult area, in addition to the sounds of sirens are heard all the time, to remind us that it is a bit conflictive place, all these elements make us enter the context in which the characters live. As for the music, I think it is the best, unlike the recent success of that time as was High School Musical, the music of the film is used to set the mood, and believe me, I still remember the songs fondly, in fact I sang them while watching the movie.
Jump In es una película que aunque no sea una gran obra maestra, es bastante disfrutable. Debo destacar los paralelismos que existen con High School Musical (que seguramente ustedes se habrán dado cuenta), teniendo la trama del chico que descubre otra pasión además del deporte que practica originalmente, sus amigos no se toman en serio esta otra pasión, y practica ese deporte porque su papá espera lo mejor de él, sumando que el papá es su entrenador. Sí, parece una trama copiada pero sinceramente siento que Jump In esta enfocado de una manera algo distinta, los personajes no la tienen tan fácil al momento de ejercer lo que aman, nos muestran su realidad y desarrollo, me gustó que Rodney tuviese un trasfondo para explicar porque es como es, no ser malo porque sí. Tratan temas como la pobreza al enterarnos que el padre de Rodney está sin trabajo, el problema con Tammy al ser tratada como inferior al ser mujer en el boxeo, y la dificultad del padre de Izzy por superar la muerte de su esposa y depositar sus expectativas en su hijo mayor. Hay cosas que no me gustaron, como el besito que le da Mary a Izzy, no lo sé, fue muy anticlimático, también lo exagerado que es que todos en la escuela se burlen de Izzy por saltar la cuerda, seamos sinceros, eso no pasa en la vida real (y menos con alguien que hace boxeo profesional, por lo menos yo no me metería con él) pero bueno, es una película de Disney. Quiero destacar que la música me encanta, me trajo lindos recuerdos, que temazo es el tema principal de la película. La recomiendo para pasar el rato, advirtiendo que tiene sus toques Disney al exagerar algunas cosas, pero con temas interesantes abarcados desde el respeto.
Jump In is a movie that although it is not a great masterpiece, it is quite enjoyable. I must highlight the parallels that exist with High School Musical (that surely you have noticed), having the plot of the boy who discovers another passion besides the sport he originally plays, his friends do not take seriously this other passion, and he plays that sport because his dad expects the best of him, adding that his dad is his coach. Yes, it seems a copied plot but I sincerely feel that Jump In is approached in a different way, the characters don't have it so easy to practice what they love, they show us their reality and development, I liked that Rodney had a background to explain why he is the way he is, not being bad for the sake of it. They deal with issues such as poverty when we learn that Rodney's father is out of work, the problem with Tammy being treated as inferior for being a woman in boxing, and the difficulty of Izzy's father to overcome the death of his wife and place his expectations on his eldest son. There are things I didn't like, like the little kiss Mary gives Izzy, I don't know, it was very anticlimactic, also how exaggerated it is that everyone at school makes fun of Izzy for jumping rope, let's face it, that doesn't happen in real life (and less with someone who does professional boxing, at least I wouldn't mess with him) but hey, it's a Disney movie. I want to point out that I love the music, it brought back nice memories, what a great song is the main theme of the movie. I recommend it to pass the time, warning that it has its Disney touches by exaggerating some things, but with interesting themes covered with respect.

Considero que Jump In es una película que se escapa un poco de los clichés de las típicas películas de Disney Channel, donde aunque tiene la trama del chico que no puede hacer lo que le apasiona por miedo a lo que digan los demás, está desarrollado con elementos que se escapan de lo normal en Disney. Tiene canciones originales que no usan de excusa para hacer un musical, al contrario, sirven para ambientar muy bien la historia y me gustan mucho, de hecho las tengo pegadas en mi cabeza justo ahora. I consider that Jump In is a movie that escapes a little from the clichés of the typical Disney Channel movies, where although it has the plot of the boy who can't do what he is passionate about for fear of what others say, it is developed with elements that escape from the normal in Disney. It has original songs that are not used as an excuse to make a musical, on the contrary, they serve to set the story very well and I like them very much, in fact I have them stuck in my head right now.
