Today I want to tell you about the latest work of the creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama: Dragon Ball Daima.

As you may already know, the great Akira Toriyama passed away last March leaving a great legacy that has accompanied anime lovers for 40 years and has served as inspiration for other great mangakas and their works.

Dragon Ball Daima, the latest work of the great Akira, takes us to nostalgia by having the premise that Goku and company were turned into children, recalling what happened in Dragon Ball GT, which although it was a non-canonical work not created by Akira Toriyama, had a great acceptance of the fans at the time.

Daima is set chronologically right after the Majin Boo arc, so it serves as a prequel to Dragon Ball Super, although the latter is not 100% confirmed.

The series features all the members of the Z Warriors who participated in the battle against Boo, who are turned into children (and some into babies) by the Demon King Gomah thanks to a wish for the Dragon Balls, seeking to weaken them, so Goku and company will have to travel to the Demon Realm in search of the Dragon Balls there and be able to reverse the wish.

Dragon Ball Daima was released last October, so Akira Toriyama didn't get to see his latest work completed. However, in the opening and ending we can find tributes to the legendary mangaka.

In the opening, titled "Jaka Jaan", written by Yukimojo Nori and performed by Zedd and KEEN, the tribute is a bit hidden and can only be detected by people who speak Japanese or by those who are a bit familiar with the language and have a good ear.

In one part of the lyrics it says "Yume wa toridori nayamanai akiramenai" which has the name of the creator of Goku's story hidden and translates to "Dreams are everywhere. Don't worry about it. Never give up.", which is basically the message the author is giving us with his work.

In the ending, entitled "NAKAMA", written by AI and performed by herself together with Zedd, there are also the words "Tori", "Yama" and "Akira" throughout the lyrics and it has a visual tribute, since we can see Goku, main character of the work, watching how a big white bird rises to the sky after being formed with feathers flying around him.

The word "Tori" in the author's last name means "bird" in English, besides the fact that in the first chapters of Dr. Slump, also a work by Toriyama, he represented himself as a blue bird and we must also take into account the name of the studio founded by him, Bird Studio.

Undoubtedly, a fitting tribute to a man who was a pillar in the manga and anime industry in Japan and who helped turn the industry into the worldwide phenomenon it is today.

Hoy quiero hablarles de la ultima obra del creador de Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama: Dragon Ball Daima.

Como ya sabrán, el gran Akira Toriyama falleció el pasado mes de Marzo dejando un gran legado que ha acompañado a los amantes del anime por 40 años y que ha servido de inspiración para otros grandes mangakas y sus obras.

Dragon Ball Daima, la ultima obra del gran Akira, nos lleva a la nostalgia al tener la premisa de que Goku y compañía fueron convertidos en niños, recordando a lo ocurrido en Dragon Ball GT, que aunque fue una obra no canónica al no ser creada por Akira Toriyama, tuvo una gran aceptación de los fanáticos en su tiempo.

Daima se ubica cronológicamente justo después del arco de Majin Boo, por lo que sirve como precuela de Dragon Ball Super, aunque esto último no está 100% confirmado.

La serie cuenta con todos los miembros de los Guerreros Z que participaron en la batalla contra Boo, quienes son convertidos en niños (y algunos en bebés) por el Rey Demonio Gomah gracias a un deseo de las Esferas del Dragón, buscando debilitarlos, por lo que Goku y compañía tendrán que viajar al Reino Demoníaco en busca de las Esferas del Dragón de allí y poder revertir el deseo.

Dragon Ball Daima fue estrenada el pasado mes de octubre, por lo que Akira Toriyama no alcanzó a ver su última obra finalizada. Sin embargo, en el opening y en el ending de la misma podemos encontrar homenajes al legendario mangaka.

En el opening, titulado "Jaka Jaan", escrito por Yukimojo Nori e interpretado por Zedd y KEEN, el homenaje está un poco oculto y solo puede ser detectado por las personas que hablan japonés o por quienes están un poco familiarizados con el idioma y tienen un buen oído.

En una parte de la letra dice "Yume wa toridori nayamanai akiramenai" que tiene oculto el nombre del creador de la historia de Goku y se traduce como "Los sueños están en todas partes. No te preocupes. No te rindas nunca.", que es básicamente el mensaje que nos da el autor con su obra.

En el ending, titulado "NAKAMA", escrito por AI e interpretado por ella misma junto a Zedd, también están las palabras "Tori", "Yama" y "Akira" a lo largo de la letra y cuenta con un homenaje visual, ya que podemos ver a Goku, personaje principal de la obra, observando cómo un gran pájaro blanco se eleva al cielo luego de formarse con plumas que vuelan a su alrededor.

La palabra "Tori" en el apellido del autor significa "pájaro" en español, además de que en los primeros capítulos de Dr. Slump, también obra de Toriyama, él se representaba a sí mismo como un pájaro azúl y también hay que tomar en cuenta el nombre del estudio fundado por él, Bird Studio.

Sin lugar a dudas, un homenaje digno para un hombre que fue un pilar en la industria del manga y anime en Japón y que ayudó a convertir dicha industria en el fenomeno que es hoy en día a nivel mundial.
