Directed by Tyler Nilson, Michael Schwartz under a budget of 6.3 million USD, this movie has to be in the perks of the sweetest films of the decade even though it does a little in Box office with 23.1 million USD, but compared to the budget: it did well.
I don't want to be sentimental about my rating for this movie, It could go as high as 9 out of 10, but I'll just make it 8.5/10 to be fair to other great movies but with lesser ratings.
Some movies will touch your soul, while some will make you not want to on a TV set again. But this one is the former starring Shia LeBouf(The Transformer) and Dakota Johnson(Fifty Shades) and Zack Gottsagen, they really did an amazing job in the screenplay and entire plot.
A down syndrome boy and an outlaw bonded and became inseparable friends after a breakout from a special home. After running away from a residential nursing home to pursue his dream of becoming a pro wrestler,the outlaw (LeBouf) becomes his coach and ally.
Dakota Johnson was a keeper at the special home who was tasked to find the boy and bring him back, but she later found out that the boy is capable of a normal life and all thanks to his outlaw friend and coach who had trained him in a short while how to be sociable.
The movie is not a A-lister but its worth a lot considering twist about how the society looks down on people with down syndromes. Contrary to popular opinion, these set of people could actually live a normal life and function perfectly as a social beings hence my rating for this movie stands- 8.5/10.
