En esta oportunidad les daré mi opinión sobre la reciente serie de Netflix “Merlina” que justamente acabo de terminar de ver, así que tengo los comentarios y las ganas de hablar de la serie a flor de piel. Desde de una vez les adelante que a nivel general la serie me pareció un 8/10 por diversos motivos que les describiré más adelante. Un poco sobre la serie, mi reseña y comentarios es lo que trataremos un poco en este post, aparte de invitarlos a verla si no lo han hecho, la recomiendo sin ningún problema.
This time I will give you my opinion about the recent Netflix series "Merlina" which I just finished watching, so I have the comments and the desire to talk about the series at the top of my lungs. Merlina Addams (Jenna Ortega) es una adolescente de 16 años perteneciente a la reconocida Familia Addams, reconocimiento que poseen por ser una familia con un estilo de vida particular siendo más sombrío y tenebroso. Merlina es una chica fría, apática, con una gran indiferencia para y con los demás, con conductas que rosan en gran medida los límites de lo ilegal, caracterizándose por su crueldad y forma dolorosa de realizar sus travesuras, encontrando en ella satisfacción.
Merlina Addams (Jenna Ortega) is a 16 year old teenager belonging to the renowned Addams Family, recognition they have for being a family with a particular lifestyle being more dark and gloomy. Al llegar al colegio Merlina sabe que debe hacer lo que nunca le ha gustado en su vida que es socializar y crear una vida escolar en su nuevo entorno, lo que decide escaparse hasta que se da cuenta que en su mismo colegio están ocurriendo asesinatos misterioso que de alguna forma la involucran ella debido a sus habilidades psíquicas de tener visiones, cosa que alimenta su curiosidad.

Algo que me gusta hacer cada vez que veo una serie es analizar sus personajes, y Merlina me dio mucha tela que cortar, en este caso solo me centrare en el protagonista. Merlina además de representar una chica como describe en el resumen, también demuestra en gran medida los conflictos emocionales y sociales que puede tener una persona de la transición de niño a una etapa totalmente nueva como la adolescencia, evidentemente obviando las conductas irreales, sombrías y antisociales que se ya que solo forma parte de la trama, pero en los aspectos que les cuesta relacionarse, su sentido de independencia por su misma crianza siendo a la vez una ventaja pero jugándole en contra también por su soberbia al darse cuenta que necesita si o si aliados y debe de alguna forma conectar con ellos, pero no porque no quiera en su totalidad, sino porque ¡no sabe cómo hacerlo!
Something I like to do every time I watch a series is to analyze its characters, and Merlina gave me a lot of fabric to cut, in this case I will only focus on the protagonist. Merlina besides representing a girl as described in the summary, also demonstrates to a great extent the emotional and social conflicts that a person can have from the transition from child to a totally new stage as adolescence, obviously obviating the unrealistic, gloomy and antisocial behaviors that I know since it is only part of the plot, but in the aspects that are difficult for them to relate, their sense of independence due to their own upbringing being at the same time an advantage but also playing against them because of their arrogance when they realize that they need allies and must somehow connect with them, but not because they don't want to as a whole, but because they don't know how to do it!
Otra cosa que me gustó mucho es que si buscara el ejemplo de alguien que dice exactamente lo que piensa y que aparte le de argumentos lógicos y personales a dicho pensamiento sobre algo o alguien sin importar quien sea, es Merlina, mas allá de calificar si es algo bueno o malo, para mi yo me quedé impresionado, y me gusto esa habilidad que no le costaba en lo absoluto. Más a señalar es su increíble inteligencia, habilidades para casi cualquier situación y su manera de anticipar los movimientos de quienes considera sus oponentes y la actitud oposicionista para lo que a ella no le parece justo.
Another thing that I really liked is that if I were looking for an example of someone who says exactly what she thinks and gives logical and personal arguments to that thought about something or someone no matter who it is, it is Merlina, beyond qualifying if it is something good or bad, for me I was impressed, and I liked that ability that did not cost her at all. More to point out is her incredible intelligence, skills for almost any situation and her way of anticipating the moves of those she considers her opponents and the oppositional attitude for what she doesn't think is fair.
Para concluir esta parte, no podía dejar atrás la espectacular trabajo que hizo la actriz Jenna Ortega interpretando a Merlina, solo por darle fielmente los atributos psicológicos y conductuales al personaje, sino que la misma esencia del personaje es ella misma y esto lo hemos podido ver en otros actores que personifican a un personaje y hacen de ellos al personaje que cuesta distinguirlo. Además la determinación y concentración para mantener el perfil corporal sin expresiones del personaje, que estuve al pendiente de cada gesto por lo mismo, la verdad si la segunda temporada de merlina se estrenara mañana, la vería únicamente para volver a Jenna Ortega en pantalla.
To conclude this part, I could not leave behind the spectacular work done by the actress Jenna Ortega playing Merlina, just to faithfully give the psychological and behavioral attributes to the character, but the very essence of the character is herself and this we have seen in other actors who embody a character and make them the character that is hard to distinguish. Evidentemente la serie no representa el 100% las películas de los locos Addams ni la Merlina de la serie cubre en su totalidad a la Merlina de niña que se ve en las cintas, pero para mí todo esto tiene una razón de ser que yo considero que son unos de los porque. La serie se da un contexto totalmente diferente en lo que se ve en las películas, empezando que ya no es una niña como tal sino una adolescente que a pesar de ser una Addams no escapa a la realidad de los cambios que trae la adolescencia, por ende las características de la Merlina de niña de las películas no podían pasar sin sufrir algún cambio. También que el foco de la serie se trata de centrarlo en Merlina y a las personas que los rodean desarrollando su propia historia, al darle más protagonismo a la familia entera habría desviado la atención, de igual forma disfrute los pequeños momentos de participación de la familia Addams en la serie sobre todo la aparición del tío Lucas (Fred Armisen).

The series is given a totally different context than what is seen in the movies, starting that she is no longer a girl as such but a teenager who despite being an Addams does not escape the reality of the changes that adolescence brings, therefore the characteristics of the Merlina as a girl in the movies could not pass without undergoing some change. Also that the focus of the series is centered on Merlina and the people around them developing their own story, giving more prominence to the whole family would have diverted attention, just as I enjoy the small moments of participation of the Addams family in the series especially the appearance of Uncle Lucas (Fred Armisen).
Otra cosa a comentar si el tema de los asesinatos, me gustó mucho que no fuese las típicas series (ojo estas series también me gustan) donde cada capítulo ocurre un homicidio y el protagonista contra todo obstáculo resuelve quien lo cometió, aquí no sucede eso, sino todo lo contrario, todos los asesinatos solo dificultan más el camino para entender quién o qué es lo que está sucediendo en la escuela.

Tampoco puedo dejar de lado otras de las cosas que se menciona mucho de la serie, la trama adolescente, debo confesar que soy muy fans de la trama y clichés adolescentes siempre y cuando sea un ámbito real, no forzado y que tenga su desarrollo lógico o por lo menos para lógico que es en esa serie, y esta serie no fue la excepción, sobre todo de como cuajar la personalidad tan característica de Merlina con un cliché adolescente.
I must confess that I am a big fan of adolescent plots and clichés as long as they are real, not forced and have a logical development or at least for logical that is in the series, and this series was no exception, especially how to combine Merlina's characteristic personality with an adolescent cliché.
Ahora algo negativo si puedo verla a la serie, no es mal de morirse pero si está dentro de lo que no me gusto y es el final, siento que fue como cuando expones un tema buenísimo pero como estas corto de tiempo debes apurarte y cerrar el tema faltando cosas por profundizar, ps algo así se sintió ese final, quedaron abiertas muchas cosas que se notaron en capítulos pasados y no se profundizaron los detalles sino que les consiguió un cierre rápido. No es un final malo pero si siento que falto, pero podría ser que lo hayan hecho también para dar material o apertura para una próxima temporada.

It's not a bad ending but I do feel it was lacking, but it could be that they did it also to give material or opening for a next season.
Y bueno apreciados Hivers del mundo del cine y la serie, por mi parte eso es todo por esta ocasión, no soy muy experimentado haciendo reseñas de series pero espero con el tiempo y las herramientas de Hive ir tomando experiencia y traerles más contenido de este tipo.
