Valar Morghulis, en esta oportunidad quiero hablar de una de mis sagas favoritas de fantasía y misterios, la pre-cuela a Game of the Trons la serie de HBO “House of the Dragon” temporada 1, inspirada en el libro de Fuego y Sangre del escritor George R.R. Martin. Lo cual nos cuenta los sucesos acontecidos 200 antes a los inicios de GOT, en el apogeo del reinado de la dinastía más larga que tuvo el continente ficticio de Poniente “Los Targaryen” y los sucesos que conllevaron a la guerra civil más sangrienta del mundo Hielo y Fuego conocida como “Danza de Dragones”.

Valar Morghulis, this time I want to talk about one of my favorite sagas of fantasy and mysteries, the prequel to Game of the Trons the HBO series "House of the Dragon" season 1, inspired by the book of Fire and Blood of the writer George R.R. Martin. Les seré honesto, soy mega fan casi al mismo grado que Star Wars hacia las obras del señor R.R Martin tanto en los libros como en la serie de Juego de Tronos de HBO (hasta la temporada 6) que las considero una obra de arte, que podría verlas una y otra vez sin cansarme. En otras oportunidades les he comentado que soy amante los libros, de leer, de la historia y fantasía, siendo la saga de canción de hielo y fuego la que representa estos aspectos y la Casa del Dragón no fue la excepción. Estuve fielmente atento desde el primer domingo que se estrenó la serie hasta el último sin falta y valió más que merecida la pena que prácticamente no sentía que pasaba una hora que es lo que dura cada episodio. Pero bueno, a lo que vinimos, en este post les hablare del resumen de la serie, de los personajes y comentarios que puedo tener de ella, evidentemente todo será basado en mi opinión así que espero que disfrutes leyéndome.
I'll be honest, I'm a mega fan almost to the same degree as Star Wars towards the works of Mr. R.R Martin both in the books and in the HBO Game of Thrones series (until season 6) that I consider them a work of art, that I could watch them over and over again without getting tired. In other opportunities I have told you that I am a lover of books, reading, history and fantasy, being the saga of Song of Ice and Fire the one that represents these aspects and Dragon House was no exception. I was faithfully attentive from the first Sunday that the series premiered until the last without fail and it was more than worth it, I practically didn't feel that an hour passed, which is how long each episode lasts. But well, to what we came, in this post I will talk about the summary of the series, the characters and comments I can have of it, obviously everything will be based on my opinion so I hope you enjoy reading me.

200 años antes del nacimiento de Daenerys Targaryen, y muchísimo tiempo más de los acontecimientos de Juego de Tronos, la casa Targaryen reinaba en pleno apogeo sobre el continente de Poniente, desde la caída de Maegor I llamado “el cruel” hasta los finales del reinado Jaehaerys I conocido como el Rey viejo, los Targaryen gozaban de una enorme paz en todo las regiones de los 7 reinos y de un poderío que jamás se había visto desde el reinado de los Valyrios, pero el temor y respeto hacia la casa Targaryen no residía solo por su origen en la antigua Valyria y que eran los actuales gobernantes de los 7 reinos , sino por sus dragones. A finales de los días de Jaehaerys I, el viejo rey había gozado de un largo reinado de paz y de justicia, pero el infortunio caería sobre el reino ya que no el Jaehaerys no contaba con un descendiente al cual sucederle como rey a su muerte. Sin embargo había más aspirantes dentro de la familia Targaryen que ansiaban el poder y esperaban que el rey ya de edad avanzada tomara una decisión de quien lo sucedería, ante esto, Jaehaerys convoco un gran consejo, compuesto por grandes y pequeños señores de todos las regiones del reino los cuales serían ellos quienes decidirían el destino de la corona.

El reinado de Viserys I a pesar de contar con una relativa paz dejada por su antecesor el rey Jaehaerys, en este periodo de su reinado se sembraron las semillas y decisiones que darían a florecer los acontecimientos que desataron la peor guerra civil de la dinastía Targaryen conocida como “Danza de Dragones”, una de estas semillas fue el hecho de que el rey Viserys I al igual que Jaehaerys carecía de un heredero varón y yendo contra la decisión del gran consejo que le otorgo la corona, designo a su única hija la princesa Rhaenyra Targaryen como su heredera al trono de hierro.

El mundo de hielo y fuego desde GOT se caracteriza por su enorme cantidad de personajes debido a que está muy inspirada en los libros que también sucede esto, lo cual lo hace una saga de múltiples historias que se desarrollan por separada y luego se cruzan entre sí, House of the Dragón cuanta con muchos personajes interesantes y diversos, pero para esta reseña me centrare solo aquellos que dan relevancia y protagonismo a la historia.
El mundo de hielo y fuego desde GOT se caracteriza por su enorme cantidad de personajes debido a que está muy inspirada en los libros que también sucede esto, lo cual lo hace una saga de múltiples historias que se desarrollan por separada y luego se cruzan entre sí, House of the Dragón cuanta con muchos personajes interesantes y diversos, pero para esta reseña me centrare solo aquellos que dan relevancia y protagonismo a la historia.

El Rey Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine): El rey Viserys es un ejemplo muy claro que la diplomacia y la asertividad a la hora de gobernar no son suficientes para llevar un reino y que debe haber un equilibrio entre enfatizar el poder y las veces que haya negociar, como dos estrategias agarrada de la mano. Siempre se caracterizó por preferir negociar antes que las armas y deseoso de cumplir con el deber de su familia, pero su exceso de confianza hacia sus consejeros fue uno de sus grandes errores y desafíos. No obstante también hay que entender la inmensa responsabilidad que llevaba sin haberla pedido, estar en el trono de hierro es algo que es de todo menos cómodo para quien lo quiera ejercer, a pesar de gozar con inmunidades y riquezas, las demandas de 7 enormes reinos lo dejaban agotado como física y mentalmente.

Princesa Rhaenyra Targaryen: Sin duda uno de los mejores personaje el cual su desarrollo está lleno muchas cosas de que hablar y analizar, además que fue interpretado por dos actriz que para mi opinión suyo el personaje de Rhaenyra, por ende su análisis lo hare por separado ya que considero que el trabajo de las actriz cada una le dio su toque su interpretación.
Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen: Undoubtedly one of the best characters whose development is full of many things to talk about and analyze, plus it was played by two actresses that for my opinion theirs the character of Rhaenyra, therefore its analysis I will do it separately as I consider that the work of the actresses each one gave her touch to her interpretation.
Niña (Milly Alcock): Desde el inicio sabía que el personaje de Rhaenyra me gustaría, se caracteriza como aquella niña preadolescente de que a pesar de contar con privilegios y comodidades en su posición, se rehúsa a ser más del montón para el papel que le toca como mujer y princesa, para su edad ya es consciente de la responsabilidad que esta sobre ella la cual rechaza, y prefiere tener una vida libre donde ella haga lo que desee y no lo que las leyes culturales de la época le asignen. Tiene el carácter fuerte característico de los Targaryen pero a la vez la inteligencia al momento de tomar decisiones además demostrar que es capaz de solucionar conflictos de la manera más factible, la única desventaja ante ella es dejarse llevar por sus pasiones amorosas de aquellos que la desean solo para sus intereses personales.
Girl (Milly Alcock): From the beginning I knew I would like the character of Rhaenyra, she is characterized as that pre-adolescent girl that despite having privileges and comforts in her position, she refuses to be more of the bunch for the role she plays as a woman and princess, for her age she is already aware of the responsibility that is on her which she rejects, and prefers to have a free life where she does what she wants and not what the cultural laws of the time assign to her. She has the strong character characteristic of the Targaryen but at the same time the intelligence at the moment of making decisions, besides demonstrating that she is capable of solving conflicts in the most feasible way, the only disadvantage before her is to be carried away by her love passions of those who want her only for their personal interests.
Adulta (Emma D'Arcy): La Rhaenyra de adulta, es aquella joven que se da cuenta que el mundo fuera de los muros del reino es más difícil de lo que parece, que las responsabilidades como adulta son más fuertes de lo que parecen y además ya no cuenta con la inocencia de ser una niña y para lograr sus objetivos no siempre puede mostrarse desafiante ante las exigencias sociales del reino si quiere ganarse la simpatía. Además descubre que el mundo es más traicionero de lo que parece y que no solo con palabras puede defender su derecho al trono, sino que tiene que hacerlo valer. Conserva la misma inteligencia y estrategia desde niña, pero su inexperiencia le juego una carta en su contra.

Príncipe Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith): Es sin duda el ejemplo de todo lo que le faltó a Viserys como rey, voluntad, poder, fuerza y ofensiva. Si hay algo que puede rescatar a la serie en general es su originalidad que lo separa de lo que se cuenta en los libros, me gusta no solo como la serie mantiene lo que se relata en Fuego y Sangre sino además que le añade sus propios toques que separan automáticamente la serie del libro pero a la vez siguen unidos. Algunos hechos se mantienen igual al libro, otros con unos ciertos detalles que no están en el libro y otros totalmente diferentes pero que encajan perfectamente en la trama, es como contar un hecho pero que a pesar que el final es el mismo los acontecimientos suceden de manera diferente.
Si hay algo que puede rescatar a la serie en general es su originalidad que lo separa de lo que se cuenta en los libros, me gusta no solo como la serie mantiene lo que se relata en Fuego y Sangre sino además que le añade sus propios toques que separan automáticamente la serie del libro pero a la vez siguen unidos. Algunos hechos se mantienen igual al libro, otros con unos ciertos detalles que no están en el libro y otros totalmente diferentes pero que encajan perfectamente en la trama, es como contar un hecho pero que a pesar que el final es el mismo los acontecimientos suceden de manera diferente.

Además algo que me gusta de House of the Dragón es que no necesitas ser alguien que se haya visto juego de tronos o se haya leído los libros para poder entenderla, sino que la misma serie se entiende por si sola y da la oportunidad al espectador de generarle el interés por los elementos mencionados en la serie, y para los que somos fans de juego de tronos y de los libros es un regalo muy gratificante. Es una buena forma de ganarse ambos tipos de audiencia. Sin mencionar que en pocos capítulos rescata mucho de las cosas más importante que se ven en los libros de una forma entendible para cualquier audiencia.
Also something I like about House of the Dragon is that you don't need to be someone who has seen Game of Thrones or read the books to understand it, but the series itself understands itself and gives the viewer the opportunity to generate interest in the elements mentioned in the series, and for those of us who are fans of Game of Thrones and the books it is a very rewarding gift. It's a good way to win over both types of audience. Not to mention that in a few chapters it rescues much of the most important things seen in the books in a way that is understandable to any audience.
Y no podía culminar esta sección, sin mencionar el estupendo trabajo que hicieron los actores Milly Alcock, Matt Smith y Emma D'Arcy interpretando los personajes de Rhaenyra y Daemon Targaryen, no solo le dieron sus características personales a los personajes sino que supieron cómo ganarse a la audiencia a través de sus interpretaciones. Es lo que yo digo cuando un actor hace suyo a un personaje.
And I couldn't finish this section without mentioning the great job that the actors Milly Alcock, Matt Smith and Emma D'Arcy did playing the characters of Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen, they not only gave their personal characteristics to the characters but they knew how to win over the audience through their interpretations. That's what I say when an actor makes a character their own.
