A story of revenge against unspecified number of villains affiliated with certain group/organisation responsible for killing protagonist's family. The immortal is a supporting character with very strong regenerative ability.
Many characters, all scarred, all seek revenge, all burdened by trauma, all strong fighters, almost all have reasons to kill each other. Show manages to create a dark, heavy and borderline depressing atmosphere.
Very explicit violence, merciless on viewer. You will lost count of severed limbs. You will see fights to the death when fighters endure many serious wounds. You will see long torture in all details. Many excruciatingly painful deaths and a lot of suffering.
Story gets entertaining sometimes, like when protagonist loses a fight but her life is spared. She asks "why?" and in reply gets something like: "What fun would that be to kill you now? Get stronger and find me again, will you? I'll look forward to meet you again."
Art is good with unusual amount of attention given to landscapes, most of which are not reused, appearing only once for few seconds. A lot of effort was dedicated to that. The show could easily do without so much art unrelated to the story yet creators incorporated many unique artworks that affect viewers' mood significantly. That artistic relief is much needed to balance all blood and gore that the show have in abundance.
