Greetings #MoviesAndTVShows Community. I'm back here, after a period of absence on HIVE. Today I want to talk a bit about a quite interesting series based on a real case in 2013. It's about The Asunta Case.

  This story resonated a lot in Spain for a long time, but I was unaware of its existence. After watching this series of eight chapters produced by Netflix, I was shocked and had many doubts about what happened to this girl.

  Rosario Porto and her husband Alfonso Basterra are the main suspects in the death of Asunta. But who is she and why all the fuss? Well, Asunta was a 12-year-old girl who was drugged and murdered by her adoptive parents.

  I had my doubts about whether or not to watch this series after knowing a little of what it was about. However, on one not-so-special day, I decided to give it a chance and I couldn't stop watching it since it started. It simply amazed me how far a human being can go to hurt another person.

  This series is loaded with a lot of drama and mystery on the part of the parents. No one knows what happened in that house or why. And although both parents were prosecuted and found guilty, to this day it is still unclear why the events occurred.

  From my point of view this is one of the best series Netflix has made and it's worth giving it a chance. The performances were 10/10. Especially Candela Peña, who gave life to Asunta's mother.

  The character I liked the most in the series was Judge Malvar, played by Javier Gutiérrez. It was thanks to him that “justice” was achieved for the girl Asunta. Note that I put in quotation marks doing justice because, from my point of view, there is no justice. There was no reason to murder such a prodigious and loving child with her parents.

  I think that the adoptive parents of this child should never have adopted. And although the official reasons for what happened to Asunta are unknown, in the series they show all the possible events of what happened.

  However, the conclusion I draw is that Alfonso and Rosario had something to do with the death of the girl's grandparents. Asunta for her part knew nothing at all about the situation. She was simply frightened or upset for a while with her parents perhaps because she knew they were drugging her and began to avoid them, they drew their conclusion that she knew something and carried out the act of homicide.

  Now, at the time of committing the murder, I agree with the description posed by Judge Malvar. Both parents were involved, both parents had psychological problems and the girl was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Currently, the one still serving his sentence is Alfonso who is scheduled to be released in September 2031.

  As for Rosario, this woman couldn't take the pressure or the guilt and took her own life on November 18, 2020. After watching the series in its entirety and for a job well done on my part I give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟 of 5 Little Golden Stars. It is a series worth watching, although it leaves a bitter taste for the events that occurred.
