ย Hello to all the movie lovers at #MoviesAndTVShows. Today I want to tell you about a movie I saw yesterday afternoon, recommended by a cinephile who likes Scorsese's work. As always before I continue I give notice that my post only contains a breakdown of my opinion on the movie without giving spoilers, so you can read at ease since:
ย As I mentioned at the beginning, this film released last year is one of the latest works made by award-winning director Martin Scorsese whose film adaptation has his mark all over it, from start to finish. The film has a total running time of 206 minutes which equals three hours and twenty-six minutes. Yes, folks, that's how long it is.
ย The story focuses on the events against the Osage Indian nation in the 1920s, where oil-rich deposits were discovered for the first time. It tells the story of the injustices experienced by the Osage population thanks to the greed of the Americans.
ย The film has a first-class cast that from my point of view gave a great performance. What I liked the most was how she acted. I certify that she deserves an Oscar is Lily Gladstone and of course the legend of Robert De Niro, and I loved the role he played Jesse Plemons not to mention the role he offered Leonardo DiCaprio.
ย De Niro played the role impeccably and with his personal touch that makes him a great actor. The film had good scenery, photography, scenery, and costumes worthy of the era, details that can be easily appreciated and take you back to the 1920s.
ย As a curious fact, it is worth noting that the film received a few recognitions and awards from the academy, as well as a high score from critics in the area, standing out with a 7.1 out of 10 points with quite good, positive opinions and acceptance for the work offered by Scorsese.
ย In addition it is also ranked 22nd in the Ranking of Movies of 2023 that stood out. However, I expected it to be in the top 10, perhaps this was not achieved by the same aspects that I did not like about the film, and that weighted the end. These are details that are part of each person's taste and here I express mine.

ย Well, we get to the part where I can give you my point of view with details without falling into spoilers of what I liked and didn't like about the movie. I'll start by talking about what I didn't like, which were a few aspects. First and foremost is the length. I thought it was excessive that it lasted so long and the story was a bit slow. From my point of view, they left out scenes that they could have easily eliminated in order not to make it so long.
ย Another aspect that I didn't like is the cruelty and cynicism that the director captured in a few scenes, and unfortunately Scorsese is characterized by it. And it was one of the reasons why it took me a while to decide when to watch this film. His films tend to be a bit rough for my taste, capturing cruel realities that make you feel pretty bad and that's what happened to me in almost all the film.
ย Another aspect that I didn't like is how little they showed of the indigenous culture of the Osage, they took a lot of things for granted and could have taken advantage of moments to remember the traditions of these people and explain each activity or belief. I am one of those viewers who enjoys having these aspects explained, to learn more about the culture, whatever it is. In this film, I unfortunately did not see any of this.
ย The story of the romance developed was a bit confusing to me at the beginning, I wasn't sure if it was a romance movie or a movie about murders that happened at that time according to historical facts, this aspect was a bit vague.
ย It seems to me that Scorsese could have used the film to pay tribute to all the people who suffered back then thanks to the greed and avarice of the typical American. To leave some message at the end to explain that there was a reason for all the events that happened in 1920, but no, it didn't happen either.
ย What I did like was the drama, how he captured it, the uncertainty, am I in danger, am I going to be killed, does he love me or is he my enemy? All these questions ran through my mind as the movie went on. I identified a lot with Lily, she conveyed with her look and her acting all the pain she felt, the disappointment, the fear, and the cruelty to her family. One of many.

ย The film had some suspense that I also liked and enjoyed, it surprised me with unexpected scenes, and well, Scorsese is not one of my favorites as a director because of how strong he usually shows his scenes. If you like his films like The Departed, The Shutter Island or Gangs of New York, you will have an idea of what to expect in the film.
ย As a final score and taking into account what I liked and what I didn't, I give it ๐๐๐ out of 5 Little Stars. Would I watch it again, No, but it doesn't mean that the movie is bad. I still think it's worth seeing and that's why it's on my side:

Como siempre antes de continuar doy aviso de que mi publicaciรณn sรณlo contiene un desglose de mi opiniรณn sobre la pelรญcula sin dar spoiler, asรญ que puedes leer tranquilo ya que:
ย Como ya les mencionรฉ al principio, este film estrenado el aรฑo pasado es uno de los รบltimos trabajos realizados por el galardonado director Martin Scorsese cuya adaptaciรณn cinematogrรกfica tiene su marca por todos lados, desde que empieza hasta que termina. El film tiene una duraciรณn total de 206 minutos que equivalen a tres horas y veintisรฉis minutos. Si amigos, asรญ de larga es.
ย La historia se centra en los sucesos que ocurrieron en contra a la naciรณn indรญgena de Osage en los aรฑos 20, donde se descubrรญa por primera vez yacimientos ricos en petrรณleo. Y bueno bรกsicamente relata las injusticias que experimentรณ la poblaciรณn Osage gracias a la codicia de los americanos.
ย La pelรญcula cuenta con un reparto de primera que desde mi punto de vista dieron la talla con sus actuaciones. Quien mรกs me gustรณ cรณmo actuรณ y que realmente certifico que la hace merecedora de un Oscar es Lily Gladstone y por supuesto la leyenda de Robert De Niro, y me encantรณ el papel que realizรณ Jesse Plemons y ni hablar del papel que ofreciรณ Leonardo DiCaprio.
ย Todos trabajaron estupendamente, De Niro representรณ ese papel de manera impecable y con su toque personal que lo cataloga como el grandioso actor que es. La pelรญcula contรณ con buenos escenarios, una fotografรญa, escenografรญa y vestuario dignos de la รฉpoca, detalles que se pueden apreciar con facilidad y te remontan a la fecha de los aรฑos 20.
ย Como dato curioso, cabe destacar que la pelรญcula recibiรณ unos cuantos reconocimientos y premios de la academia, asรญ como tambiรฉn una alta puntuaciรณn por parte de crรญticos en el รกrea, destacando con un 7.1 de 10 puntos con opiniones bastante buenas, positivas y de aceptaciรณn por el trabajo que ofreciรณ Scorsese.
ย Ademรกs tambiรฉn estรก ubicada en el puesto 22 del Ranking de Pelรญculas de 2023 que destacaron. Sin embargo, esperaba que estuviera entre los 10 primeros, tal vez esto no se logrรณ por los mismos aspectos que no me gustaron de la pelรญcula y que tuvieron peso al final. Son detalles que quedan de parte del gusto de cada quien y yo aquรญ plasmo los mรญos.

ย Bien, llegamos a la parte donde puedo darles mi punto de vista con detalles sin caer en spoiler de lo que me gustรณ y no me gustรณ de la pelรญcula. Empezarรฉ hablando de lo que no me gustรณ, que fueron unos cuantos aspectos. La primera y principal es la duraciรณn. Me pareciรณ excesivo que durara tanto y la historia transcurriera algo lenta. Desde mi punto de vista dejaron escenas que pudieron eliminar tranquilamente para no hacerla tan larga.
ย Otro aspecto que no me gustรณ es la crueldad y el cinismo que plasmรณ el director en unas cuantas escenas, y es que lamentablemente Scorsese se caracteriza por ello. Y fue una de las razones por las cuales tardรฉ en decidirme cuรกndo ver este film. Sus pelรญculas suelen ser algo rudas para mi gusto, plasmando realidades crueles que te hacen sentir bastante mal y fue lo que me pasรณ en casi todo el film.
ย Otro aspecto que no me gustรณ es lo poco que mostraron de la cultura indรญgena de los Osage, dieron muchas cosas por sentado, pudiendo aprovechar momentos para recordar tradiciones de esta gente y explicar cada actividad o creencia. Yo soy de los espectadores que disfruta que le expliquen estos aspectos, para aprender mรกs de la cultura, sea cual sea. En esta pelรญcula lamentablemente no vi nada de esto.
ย La historia del romance desarrollado me resultรณ algo confusa al inicio, no estaba segura si era una pelรญcula de romance o de asesinatos ocurridos en aquella รฉpoca de acuerdo a los hechos histรณricos, este aspecto fue algo vago.
ย Me parece que Scorsese pudo aprovechar la pelรญcula para rendirle cierto homenaje a toda la gente que sufriรณ en aquel entonces gracias a la codicia y avaricia del tรญpico americano. Dejar algรบn mensaje al final que explicara que tuvo razรณn de ser todos los hechos ocurridos en 1920, pero no, tampoco ocurriรณ.
ย De lo que si me gustรณ fue el drama, cรณmo lo plasmรณ, la incertidumbre, ยฟcorro peligro? ยฟme van a matar? ยฟrealmente me ama o es mi enemigo? Todas estas preguntas me recorrieron la mente a medida que transcurriรณ la pelรญcula. Me identifiquรฉ mucho con Lily, ella realmente me transmitiรณ con su mirada y su actuaciรณn todo el dolor que sentรญa, la decepciรณn, el miedo y la crueldad para con su familia. Una de tantas.

ย El film tuvo cierto suspenso que tambiรฉn me gustรณ y disfrutรฉ, me sorprendiรณ con escenas inesperadas y bueno, Scorsese no es de mis favoritos como director por lo fuerte que suele mostrar sus escenas. Si te gustan las pelรญculas de รฉl, como Los Infiltrados, La Isla Siniestra o Pandillas de Nueva York, tendrรกs una idea de lo que te espera en el film.
ย Como puntuaciรณn final y tomando en cuenta lo que me gustรณ y lo que no, le doy ๐๐๐ de 5 Estrellitas. ยฟLa volverรญa a ver?, No, pero no significa que la pelรญcula sea mala. Igual pienso que vale la pena verla y por eso de mi parte estรก:
