ย Greetings #MoviesAndTVShows moviegoers. The other day I decided to watch Adam Sandler's Spaceman. And after sleeping on it I'm here to tell you my thoughts on it. As always, I warn that my post doesn't contain spoilers (I don't like to tell the movie), so I'll just give my opinion without so much detail.
ย The film caught my attention at first because it was directed by Johan Renck, director of award-winning and very good series such as Breaking Bad, Chernobyl and Vikings. Plus the musical work was elaborated by Max Richter, of whom I am a fan and was very curious to hear new space themes in this film.
ย I want to make it clear that Sandler's films are not entirely my favorites, most of them are entertaining and I've seen at least a couple of them more than once. His most notable works for me are Just Go with It and The Longest Yard. Of the rest to me, they are all the same, just different situations, but his character is always kept on the safe side, Jason Statham style. That is to say, they are typecast characters that you already know how it's going to be.
ย For this installment, however, I was very disappointed. Not so much by Sandler but by the direction and musical work of Renck and Richter respectively. Sure, Adam's performance was "okay" within reason but I found this movie so boring that I fell asleep even halfway through the movie.
ย And the film is a monologue. With scenes of memories of the protagonist with his partner where he analyzed how badly he treated his partner, how selfish he is, and that it took him more than six months in solitude, to the point of almost going crazy from loneliness to realize that he had to change to recover his relationship.
ย The plot: boring, the performances: boring, the music: boring, the dialogue: boring. Everything about it was boring even the special effects and the introduction of a rather ridiculous character like a giant talking spider, with whom Sandler has these visions and questions his romantic existence with his wife.
ย The movie even got to the point of annoying me because of how silly it was, these are movies that have no reason to exist. Also at one point because of the style of presentation of the protagonist's memories, it reminded me of the same style of existential questioning I once saw in the movie The Butterfly Effect (2004).
ย I finished watching it hoping that the ending would leave some deep moral or get good at some point but it never did. Besides that they present NASA characters as if they are irresponsible, they don't work as a team and everyone does whatever they want there.
ย In other words, a disappointing universe wherever you look at it. It left me in a bad mood and after watching it I found it to be the worst movie Sandler has ever made, even worse than the performance in You Don't Mess With the Zohan or Jack and Jill. This movie is bad, bad as a whole.

ย If you want to get bored watching someone talk to themselves and dig through their mind to find out what a bad person they were, take a chance and watch it. You get it on Netflix and it's almost two hours long. My conclusion to the post: I give it ๐ of 5 Little Golden Stars and from me:

Como siempre, aviso que mi post no contiene spoiler (realmente no me gusta contar la pelรญcula), asรญ que sรณlo darรฉ mi opiniรณn sin tanto detalle.
ย La pelรญcula me llamรณ la atenciรณn en un principio porque fue dirigida por Johan Renck, director de series galardonadas y muy buenas como Breaking Bad, Chernobyl y Vikingos. Ademรกs de que el trabajo musical fue elaborado por Max Richter, de quien soy fan y tenรญa mucha curiosidad en escuchar nuevos temas espaciales en este film.
ย Yo quiero dejar claro que las pelรญculas de Sandler no son del todo mis favoritas, la mayorรญa son entretenidas y he visto al menos un par de ellas mรกs de una vez. Sus trabajos mรกs destacados para mรญ son Una esposa de mentira y Golpe bajo - El juego final. Del resto para mรญ todas son lo mismo, sรณlo que diferentes situaciones, pero su personaje se mantiene siempre por lo seguro, estilo Jason Statham. Es decir, son personajes encasillados que ya uno sabe cรณmo serรก.
ย Sin embargo, para esta entrega me llevรฉ una gran decepciรณn. No tanto por parte de Sandler sino por la direcciรณn y el trabajo musical de Renck y Richter respectivamente. Claro que la actuaciรณn de Adam estuvo "bien" dentro de lo que cabe pero me pareciรณ tan aburrida esta pelรญcula que me dormรญ incluso a mitad de la misma.
ย Y es que el film es bรกsicamente un monรณlogo. Con escenas de recuerdos del protagonista con su pareja donde analizaba lo mal que tratรณ a su pareja, lo egoista que es y que le tomรณ mรกs de seis meses en solitario, a tal punto de casi volverse loco por la soledad para darse cuenta que tenรญa que cambiar para recuperar su relaciรณn.
ย La trama: aburrida, las actuaciones: aburridas, la mรบsica: aburrida, el dรญalogo: aburrido. Todo en ella fue aburrido incluso los efectos especiales y la introducciรณn de un personaje bastante ridรญculo como una araรฑa gigante que habla, con quien Sandler tiene estas visiones y cuestiona su existencia romรกntica con su mujer.
ย La pelรญcula incluso llegรณ a molestarme por lo tonta que fue, son pelรญculas que no tienen razรณn de existir. Tambiรฉn en un punto por el estilo de presentaciรณn de los recuerdos del protagonista, me recordรณ el mismo estilo de cuestionamiento existencial que vi una vez en la pelรญcula El Efecto Mariposa.
ย Terminรฉ de verla con la esperanza de que el final dejarรญa alguna moraleja profunda o se pondrรญa buena en algรบn punto pero no fue asรญ nunca. Ademรกs que presentan personajes de la NASA como si fueran irresponsables, no trabajaran en equipo y cada quien hace lo que le da la gana allรญ.
ย Es decir, un universo totalmente decepcionante por donde lo mires. A mรญ me dejรณ de mal humor y despuรฉs de verla me resultรณ la peor pelรญcula que ha hecho Sandler incluso peor que la actuaciรณn en No te metas con Zohan o Jack y Jill. รsta pelรญcula es mala, mala en su totalidad.

ย Si quieres aburrirte viendo a alguien hablar solo e indagar por su mente para descubrir lo mala persona que fue, arriรฉsgate a verla. La consigues en Netflix y dura casi dos horas. Mi conclusiรณn del post: le doy ๐ de 5 Estrellitas Doradas y de mi parte:
