This is a movie that shows what it means to hold on to your faith even when you find yourself in a place filled with fear and temptations.
Kizito was raised from an orphanage. He doesn't know his father and his mother, but he depends on God and trusts God alone. His greatest desire was to bring people to his God. With all the temptations and trials he knows that may come his way, he stays firm on his feet. He was sent to Mboko with the mission just to win one soul. He was told it was simple, but he never knew that it was a difficult thing that awaited him.
This movie is very interesting from the very start, when Mboko gangster boys maltreated a man by putting a bottle in his mouth and hitting it with a stick. This alone will capture your attention.
I like the way Kizito was desperate and conscious about things that can defile him. Right from the very first time he talked to his girlfriend, the way he reacted to her was all about purity. He was very intentional about his life and the life of people.
Kizito was actually a very dedicated person when it comes to things of the Lord. He goes into the town without fear and preaches to the people, trying his possible best to win their lives to God. That part can be very, very difficult when it comes to evangelism. For me, actually, that is not my way of winning souls because I know there are different ways a person can win souls. Kizito has that gift of preaching wherever he finds himself without fear. When it comes to things like this, the first thing that can bring someone down is fear. First of all, you will start thinking about what will be the reaction of this person when I talk to him.
At a time when the pastor luma assigned Kizito to go to the land of Mboko, at that moment, fear wanted to take over him.
This place called Mboko is a very dangerous place where killing of people and evil deeds are just like a normal lifestyle to them in Mboko. If I was the one, maybe I would be like Jonah, who refused to hear the voice of the Lord, but that wouldn't be my portion. 😊
Pastor Luma did that intentionally just to see his downfall, and there's one thing that captured my attention in this movie. pastor luma told him he doesn't need to capture the hearts of all the people in Mboko. He said, "Just one soul," and this is what Kizito stood with. When he reached Mboko City, all his passion was in this word that his pastor told him, and his intention was just to capture just one soul.
Immediately after he reached Mboko, his first encounter was actually funny because he was stranded there. There was nowhere to go because he was robbed, and he had no place to sleep.
Bisona actually helped him in this part. Kizito actually thinks he has nothing to do with the things of the world, not knowing that he has to involve himself with them before winning them, and he has no option than to follow her to her house for her to accommodate him. This is how he continued sleeping and waking up, going for preaching just to win her soul.
His intention was just to win even one soul, and he was done.
There are difficulties he went through, difficulties just because he wanted to win just one soul, but he couldn't. But when his mindset changed from just trying to capture one person to Christ, with the help of God, Kizito wins the souls of almost all the city of Mboko, the city that no one enters and goes out alive. But with the fear of God in Kizito, he actually invaded the city of Mboko and won souls to his God.
