Hello, everybody in the house. Is a beautiful week and a new review. This time, we have an action movie starring one of the familiar faces of the genre, Jason Statham. So let’s see if this one is worth taking shelter for.

Michael Mason, is a mysterious and isolated man who lives alone on a remote island in Scotland. He seems to have left his violent past behind, spending his days in solitude with only his dog for company. But everything changes when a storm causes a boat accident and Mason rescues a young girl named Jesse, who loses her uncle in the incident. From that moment, his quiet life is completely turned upside down.

One thing I noticed about the movie is that it doesn't rush into the action immediately. The beginning is actually quite slow, as we spend some time getting to know Mason and his lonely life on the island. At first, you might wonder when the real action is going to begin, but once the situation with Jesse changes everything, the movie starts moving in the direction we expect from a Jason Statham film.

And yes, the action is definitely there. We get the usual fights, shooting, chasing and Statham doing what he does best. His character is the kind of man who doesn't talk too much but knows exactly what to do when things get serious. Some of the fights are brutal, while others are simply there to remind us that Mason is not an ordinary man.
Y sí, la acción definitivamente está presente. Tenemos las peleas, los disparos, las persecuciones y a Statham haciendo lo que mejor sabe hacer. Su personaje es ese tipo de hombre que no habla demasiado, pero sabe exactamente qué hacer cuando las cosas se ponen serias. Algunas de las peleas son bastante brutales, mientras que otras simplemente están ahí para recordarnos que Mason no es un hombre común.
To be honest, the story isn't something we haven't seen before. A man with a dangerous past trying to live a quiet life, only to be forced back into action because someone needs his protection—this is a formula we have seen many times in action movies, especially with Jason Statham. But even though it is familiar, the movie still manages to keep you interested because of the relationship between Mason and Jesse.
La verdad es que la historia no es algo que no hayamos visto antes. Un hombre con un pasado peligroso que intenta vivir una vida tranquila, sólo para verse obligado a regresar a la acción porque alguien necesita su protección. Esta es una fórmula que hemos visto muchas veces en las películas de acción, especialmente con Jason Statham. Pero aunque resulta familiar, la película logra mantener tu interés gracias a la relación entre Mason y Jesse.
Still, if you are a fan of Jason Statham and you just want something simple to watch with some action, fights and a little emotion, then I think Shelter can give you that.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that. I wouldn't say Shelter was a bad movie because it wasn't. It entertained me, even though it didn't give me anything particularly new. I enjoyed watching it, but I also don't think it is a movie I would rush to watch again. Sometimes, you just want a simple action movie, and Shelter is exactly that.
En fin, lo dejaré hasta aquí. No diría que Shelter fue una mala película porque no lo fue. Me entretuvo, aunque tampoco me ofreció algo particularmente nuevo. Disfruté verla, pero tampoco creo que sea una película que correría a ver nuevamente. A veces simplemente quieres una película de acción sencilla, y Shelter es exactamente eso.
