This is the fifth volume of my padawan learner series. If you have not seen my first four posts please check them out using the #padawanlearner tag. Today we will be learning about the lightsabers in Star Wars.
Single bladed lightsaber: The single bladed lightsaber is the most common lightsaber among force users. Many force users use it because it is easy to use and doesn't have a significant disadvantage.

Double bladed lightsaber: The double-bladed lightsaber was a lightsaber used usually in duelists that focused on aggression. The double-bladed lightsaber has its weaknesses but it is very suitable for Sith or certain Jedi. One of its weaknesses is that it can be cut in half causing both blades to short out.

Lightwhip: The lightwhip was a special version of a lightsaber that was extremely rare. It was very similar to the Zygerrian electro whip which was featured in my previous post. It was just like a regular whip except that everything except for the hilt was made out of energy. It was purely offensive and it was horrible for defense and thus it was often used with a shoto.

Shoto: The shoto was a smaller version of a lightsaber used for defense or Jar'kai dual bladed fencing. It had a variant of it called a guard shoto that could be strapped to your arm and be parallel to it. Shotos could also be wielded effectively in the reverse grip form of Shien.

Lightsaber Pike: The lightsaber Pike was essentially a short staff with a lightsaber blade on one end. The other end had a lightsaber-proof metal shaft. The main advantage of the lightsaber pike was to have a lot of reach. This weapon was similar to a royal guard's force pike, just instead of a sharp tip it had a lightsaber blade.

Crossguard lightsaber: The crossguard lightsaber was a ancient Sith weapon that was brought back into existence by Kylo Ren. It used the two side blades to stabilize the lightsaber. Also, it could help guard the user's hand from being cut off. It could also be used to harm the opponent when the two combatants lightsabers are locked.

Curved Hilt lightsaber: The curved hilt lightsaber was an elegant lightsaber that was very suitable for the Makashi lightsaber style. It was good for lunging and slashing opponents but it was not very good for deflecting blaster fire. It was better for use against other lightsaber users.

Darksaber: The Darksaber was the only known of its kind. It was a black lightsaber that was shaped like a sword rather than the traditional round shape. It was created by Tar Vizsla and after he died it was stored in the Jedi Temple. Then the Vizsla stole it and it has been used to slay many jedi.

Lightclub: The lightclub was a larger version of the standard single-bladed lightsaber. It had a bigger hilt, and a much longer blade. Species that were larger than humans often used these weapons.

Dual-phase lightsaber: the dual-phase lightsaber was a lightsaber that could extend to double the length of a regular lightsaber. It could also remain short, extending in mid battle to have the element of surprise.
