Throughout the film, we see how these prisoners face various challenges and obstacles as they plot their escape. They use their ingenuity and skills to create improvised tools, navigate the underground tunnels and avoid detection by the guards.

The film depicts the oppressive and challenging environment of Alcatraz, as well as the main characters' determination to regain their freedom. In addition, it also explores the relationships between the inmates and how prison life affects each of them.

"Escape from Alcatraz is a film full of suspense and tension, with a strong focus on the meticulous planning and execution of the escape. Clint Eastwood gives a memorable performance as Frank Morris, and Don Siegel's direction manages to capture the bleak and claustrophobic atmosphere of the prison.
