Following the end of last episode, Barry is locked up in the metahuman wing with the rest of the captured bus metas. Warden Wolfe has Amunet Black come check them out, and makes a deal to sell of of them. Unaware, Iris and Cecile come to visit Barry. Wolfe lies that Barry was involved in an altercation and has been placed in solitary, therefore cannot receive visitors. However, with her new mind reading ability, Cecile discovers the truth, and Team Flash quickly try to figure out a way to stop the deal. Unfortunately, Harry has returned to Earth-2 to check on Jessy, and so they are on their own.

A plan emerges when Ralph, bothered by the comments of one of former shady colleagues, suddenly discovers he has the ability to actually shape shift into others. Disguised as Wolfe, he heads to Amunet's bar and attempts to call off the deal. However, he hasn't fully mastered the shape-shifting ability, and a shifting ear gives him away, causing him to begin to believe his colleague who told him he would always let his friends down.

Meanwhile, back at Iron Heights, Barry isn't sitting on his hands. Knowing of the deal, he quickly uses his scientific know-how to break himself and the others out of the meta-human wing, leading them through underground pipe (prison break, anyone?) past the power dampeners. DeVoe and his wife watch the happenings with interest. She is warned that this new development will spoil their plans, but Clifford himself isn't, seeming not to care. Marlize begins to lose faith in her husband, continuously singing a song in her had to keep him out, even after he reassures her that everything is under control.

When the prisoners finally get out of reach of the dampeners, Warden Wolfe is waiting for them with a squad, quickly incapacitating Barry with a power dampening boot. Soon after, Amunet arrives with her own people. The metas prepare to fight both off, but in a slick move, Wolfe informs them that Barry is really the Flash and they all turn on him instead. All, except for Becky Sharpe, who is fully reformed and has decided to use her abilities to help others instead. With Barry powerless, she steps up to defend him, unleashing bad luck on the others, who promptly knock themselves out by themselves.

And then, DeVoe arrives.

His new chair blocks the metas abilities, and Amunet flees, but he kills Wolfe and one by one, takes the other meta's abilities, ending up himself in Becky's body, who Barry could not save. Then he vanishes away, a moment before Cisco and Killer Frost vibe into the compound and attempt to break Barry out. Barry still refuses to leave with them however, and returns to his old cell until they can free him legally.

Ralph, now confident in himself once more after a short talk with Killer Frost, comes up with an idea and shapeshifts himself into DeVoe's original body, then shows up in a court hearing considering new evidencein Barry's case. The court is shocked, as is Marlize, and since they can't come up with an explanation, Barry is declared innocent and released. But now, Team Flash knows DeVoe is going after the bus metas, and realise that Ralph, being a bus meta himself, is in danger.

Meanwhile, back at the DeVoe's lair, Marlize is really angry at her husband and reverts to blocking him out of her head, and Clifford, now in Becky Sharpe's body, begins to surreptiously give her the love tears form the weeper to keep her in love with him.

Trouble in the DeVoe's house! Will Marlize be the key to taking down Clifford? And what, what, WHAT is the enlightenment the two are on about, and how will taking the bus metas' abilities help them achieve it?

The Flash returns tomorrow, 13th February with 'Subject 9', on the CW.
