‘Well, I’m afraid The legends have never permitted something like logic to stop them’. And apparently, neither does the series itself.

Come on! They can’t honestly expect me to believe that Rip, who put the team together and led them for a whole year, who knows the Legends better than anyone really didn’t know that the consequence of him showing them where the Waverider was parked would be their stealing it. Like, really? Unless, of course, that was his plan all along... But I’m jumping the gun here. Or time-jumping, I should say. Let me start from the beginning. So the episode kicks off right where we left it at the season 2 finale, with the Legends in a Los Angeles apparently populated with dinosaurs. Before they can take it in, however, Rip shows up with a bunch of other official-looking persons and ‘dismisses’ the Legends. Which, as far as I am concerned, doesn’t make any sense whatsoever!

First, am I the only one getting tired of the constantly changing 'Rips'? Like, stick to one already, will you? Each Rip basically throws away the old one and presents us with new motivations and modus operandi. And then, Rip shows up blaming the Legends for the break in time? Wasn’t he with them when it happened? Rather I should be asking, weren’t multiple versions of himself part of the problem? Come on! Writing this, I’m not even so sure that was Rip anymore. Anyway, after this, the legends all disperse (again) to various cities in the present. And here we see that there are actually persons who know that Sara Lance and Ray Palmer are alive, that Nate has joined the heroes in Central City, and that Mick is hanging out in Aruba committing petty larceny. Let me repeat that –people know RAY PALMER is alive. RAY PALMER! And it doesn’t blaze headlines across the country? In an arrowverse the mere son of a billionaire could do that, how about a billionaire himself? And then after almost redeeming themselves in the eyes of the time-bureau, Nate –the intelligent, superpowered Nate –somehow gets his history book stolen by Julius Caesar, who looks about as powerful as a sophomore. A book he was holding by the way. I could just go on and on! It seems Legends of Tomorrow is going full out on the ‘let’s just have fun and forget everything else’ idea. Or maybe all these things will make sense in future episodes as hidden motivations and truths are uncovered. I think I’ll just go with that.

What was your most 'fun' part of this episode? Let's know in the comments. Don't forget to leave an upvote!

Legends of Tomorrow continues next Tuesday 17th October on The CW at 8pm ET/PT. Follow me @petermarie for weekly reviews of Legends of Tomorrow and the other Arrowverse shows.
