"In the Name of Supergirl Our Saviour..."

This week, Supergirl deals with the murky, controversial theme of religion, belief and faith when she finds out a cult that worships her as a saviour and god, sent by the Kryptonian god R'a.
Ever humble and much aware of her own failings, this, of course, hits her hard. And then, the situation is worsened when she realises that persons are willingly putting themselves in danger just so they can be saved by her and join the cult as a form of baptism, and by the unnerving way their leader recognises Kara Danvers as Supergirl when she goes to confront him, asking: "Did you come here to test my faith, Supergirl?" He then goes ahead to inform her that she had lost her way and he could help her find it again.

In an attempt to get a whole lot of converts and show them Supergirl the saviour-god whom he truly believed in, the leader and his followers set a Kryptonian bomb underneath a stadium during a football match. Unfortunately, there's krytonite in it and Kara can barely move, to talk less of save the people. Seeing her bleed, his followers lose faith and run away. Luckily, Alex arrives in time and removes the Krytonite and Kara buries the bomb far underground before it explodes.
Meanwhile, Samantha Aries is adjusting to her new position as CFO of Luthercorp, bonding with Lena, Kara and Alex, but struggling with her daughter, Ruby. Although things turn out pretty good on that front, she has another problem coming --the explosion of the Kryptonian bomb has somehow reactivated her ship. She starts seeing visions of herself covered in kryptonian symbols alongside someone else in shadow and after one of these episodes, Ruby finds her on the bathroom floor sobbing uncontrollably.
