Hello, Hello Movie Addicts!
I agree with the version presented in the CineTV Contest Post:
Many times, day-to-day activities leave us exhausted and as much as we want to see a movie to enter the "relax" stage, sleep defeats us. This is a common fact, but it is accentuated when we choose a movie so boring that it seems more like a lullaby to encourage our dreams. From my side, I usually watch movies for very late hours at night. For some time now, I have decided not to leave movies halfway, so if you started one I try not to leave it halfway.
In my case, I have seen many boring movies that managed to cultivate sleep soon, this time I will mention:
The Stepford Wives:
The plot deals with how a world is dreamed of through the macho tendency to change women. Initially it is an experiment, where the perfect society is sought through the use of chips to convert and control women. These, for their part, become housewives confined to living their life at home, taking care of the children, the husband and always happy and ready to please the husband and the prevailing society with a smile from ear to ear. They honestly look so perfect, encased in detailed dresses, fake smiles, and thousands of chores eagerly awaited to be performed.
But wait, I'm a woman and far from perfect (common fact). Basically it bores me because it focuses on turning off the light on women, arguing that for a "perfect" society to function, they must be robots. The landscapes, typical of urbanizations I suppose, of high chain of money destined for suburbs. But, as for the dialogue and script, it is somewhat boring. Honestly, it's a predictable, sad and therefore boring story.
Watching this movie in its entirety was quite a feat, in that it was first turning the lighter into "tolerance" mode. To then try to assimilate the dark humor developed in unreality. It is not that my most challenging side of feminism is brought into focus, but rather that following in the continuity from where it was inspired, it goes in the opposite direction. The film was basically an adaptation of the book "The Perfect Women" by Ira Levin; remaining rather opaque in between untied thread. When you have read the book in detail, you compare and everything is "sloppy", except for the presence of Nicole Kidman, who at least shines in the film as in most performances.
A fun fact I might add to even make this interesting is that the "Perfection" syndrome fostered in the film is currently on the rise. Many women choose to seek perfection based on masculine feelings, a fact that denigrates the background of "true desire".
As I said, it is a story that quickly unravels the road and therefore there is no point of "suspense" or "hook overturn", I suppose they could have used the resources better. But...
Let's take a blanket with the pillow and go to sleep!

ยกPredecible!
ยก
