Crime movies are not exactly my favorites, however yesterday I had the opportunity to see one. It has a good plot and it seemed good to write about it.

A bit of history:
A murder: where a man murders the wife and then takes his life; leaving as a result a helpless little girl. This girl is in charge of a guardian (John Mills), who had been the father's best friend and companion, who in life had been a policeman. Over the years, this girl named Jessica Sherpard grows up and following in the footsteps of the deceased father, serves as a police officer. Successful, clever and very efficient when exercising the role of inspector to which you have just been promoted. It has as a frequent activity, go out to drink in the occasional bar, and then have sex with a stranger. Only one night sex. On the day of the ascent, he left the meeting where the coworkers were, and headed to a discreet bar. There he met a boy, young and handsome, with whom he ended up in bed. After that romantic event, he retired from the boy's apartment. Then after a few days, he finds a murder victim; He is the same boy he had sex with on the day of the ascent. This fact was something shocking for her, however I think it was just chance. During the investigation of the murder, he realized that the murderer has left a burn mark for cigarettes in the hand of the present deceased.
After a few days, they get another murder victim. The unusual thing is that he was another man with whom he had also had sex. Shepard felt stalked, and largely guilty because the murders were always at night and she couldn't remember what she was doing at night; when he arrived at the apartment he drank wine as usual and at that moment he simply fell unconscious and woke up the next day. Despite everything that went through his mind, he never said anything to his co-worker (Delmarco). Until, that one night they both had dinner at Delmarco's house and Shepard didn't want to kiss him, because everyone who kissed her ended up dead. She left that place. and went to the apartment where he lived. The same thing happens, drink wine and fall unconscious.

So a couple more murders happen. One of a lawyer he would meet that same morning when he would find him dead in a small jacuzzi. And the second was a former boyfriend who had gone to see her, he wanted to hit her and maybe kill him; However, the outcome was different: the ex-boyfriend appears dead the next morning, when the girl wakes up more guilty feels. Everyone, and even her, thought she was the murderer. But, the only one who didn't think she was to blame was the tutor. The guardian, played by the actor: Samuel Jackson, insists that she has nothing to do and always tries to clear her name within the police, this because he had a good position within the police.
The tutor, intelligent and armed with bad intentions, goes to her department and makes him believe that Delmarco is to blame for all crimes, and that he also supplied him with a drug in the drink. Then they both go to Delmarco's little house, and John Mills starts harassing him and sowing false evidence. Shepard, seeing this, remembered how the crime scene of the mother and father had been; since Jhon was putting it together very similar. It is there when he realizes that the father had not killed the mother, but that both had been killed by John. The tutor had killed the father, the mother, all the men who had recently murdered and also intended to kill Delmarco, Shepard's companion.

She, realizing all this has no choice but to kill John Mills, after he confesses that he had killed Shepard's mother, because he was in love with her and instead, she was with other men. It's when Shepard takes that confession in a tape recorder and then shoots John to finish him. That night, Shepard solves the most important murder of his life: that of the parents.
My opinion:
It is a film of a police nature and with several passionate deaths. It is a case well set and frayed slowly. Really the overturn of the outcome gives a good plus to the entire film. The cast that is reflected in the movie is excellent; especially because of the presence of the award-winning Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the role of the murderer in this case. Jackson's performance is really very good, it never crossed my mind that he was the author of all the crimes evidenced in the film. Despite being a 2004 movie, when you see it you can see a good image quality and shots.
