I like animation, especially Japanese animation, and that's why I like to watch animation from different parts of the world, seeing what new things they can bring, either in plot or animation. In this case, we come across an Indian title. Released in 2019. It was directed by Gitanjali Rao.

In animation it is a different style to the current standard, resembling big brush paintings. This works at certain moments, but unfortunately as the story progresses it feels heavy, it's hard to focus on details.
In the plot, the story shows many of the issues in Bombay, and how this affects the characters, from the censorship of kissing in the cinema to planned marriages. The problem, that I see, is that there are quite a few stops in the story, to show symbolism and allegories, that while one or two may work, it ends up becoming repetitive and loses dynamism.
The character that caught my attention is that of a deaf boy, who I think could have been developed more in this story. In the music, without being an expert in Indian music, I found his contribution to the scenarios shown interesting.
That said, it's not a bad movie, just average. With that in mind, I recommend it if you are interested in knowing a bit of Indian culture or if you are interested in seeing animation from other countries than the usual ones.
