Ya salieron los nominados a Mejor Película para los Premios Óscar, y con ello mi búsqueda por ver todos los nominados. Entre los nominados se encuentra este título y por fin se estrenó en mi país Perú, así que fui a verla hace poco al cine. Su director es Giórgos Lanthimos.
The Best Picture nominees for the Oscar Awards are out, and with it my quest to see all the nominees. Among the nominees is this title and it was finally released in my country Peru, so I went to see it recently at the cinema. Its director is Giórgos Lanthimos.
Sinopsis: En un Londres de una época antigua, Godwin Baxter es un científico que ha creado una frankenstein femenina, Bella Baxter. Bella Baxter, una humana con el cuerpo de una adulta pero con el cerebro de una niña, comenzara a hacerse preguntas sobre sí mismo y el exterior, para responder a ello, tomará una aventura que le hará conocer diversos lugares, mientra se va conociendo a sí misma y el mundo que la rodea.
Synopsis: In a London of an ancient time, Godwin Baxter is a scientist who has created a female Frankenstein, Bella Baxter. Bella Baxter, a human with the body of an adult but with the brain of a child, will begin to ask questions about herself and the outside, to answer this, she will take an adventure that will make her know different places, while she gets to know herself and the world around her.
Si bien es una historia con una buena diversidad de personajes, la trama se centra en Bella, que tras unas primeras escenas, donde explora lo cercano, aceptara una aventura que le hará desarrollarse, conociendo más de sí misma, de los humanos y de lo que quiere hacer en este mundo.
Although it is a story with a good diversity of characters, the plot focuses on Bella, who after some first scenes, where she explores what is close, will accept an adventure that will make her develop, knowing more about herself, about humans and what she wants to do in this world.
Cada lugar que visite le añadirá capas de personalidad y conocimiento al personaje, mientras nos muestra como un personaje peculiar como ella, puede generar sentimientos intensos en otras personas, como amor, odio y deseo.
Each place she visits will add layers of personality and knowledge to the character, while showing us how a peculiar character like her can generate intense feelings in other people, such as love, hate and desire.
Si bien tiene un tono de comedia y drama, no puedo dejar de mencionar las diversas escenas sexuales que tiene la película, que de alguna manera muestran un lado marcado de la protagonista, quien explora diversos aspectos de su ser, como si un juego se tratara.
While it has a tone of comedy and drama, I can not fail to mention the various sexual scenes that the film has, which somehow show a marked side of the protagonist, who explores various aspects of his being, as if it were a game.
En la fotografía, hay un buen trabajo, mezclado con escenarios imaginados, lo vuelve hasta cierto punto un cuento mágico. Lo que no me gusto, es el inicio de blanco y negro, que siento que no genera el mejor resultado. Las actuaciones son buenas, destacando Emma Watson, por la diversidad de escenas que tuvo que realizar, mientras muestra una Bella que va madurando con el tiempo.
In photography, there is a good job, mixed with imagined scenarios, makes it to some extent a magical tale. What I didn't like is the black and white beginning, which I feel doesn't generate the best result. The performances are good, highlighting Emma Watson, for the diversity of scenes she had to perform, while showing a Bella that is maturing over time.
En música y sonido, si bien hay un trabajo en generar sonidos que se repiten, mostrar cambios de tono, etc; no es el aspecto más memorable. Un punto para cerrar, es el final que si bien cierra la historia de excelente manera, la secuencia final se siente un tanto hueca.
In music and sound, although there is a work in generating sounds that repeat, show changes in tone, etc; it is not the most memorable aspect. One point to close, is the ending that although it closes the story in an excellent way, the final sequence feels a bit hollow.
Al final, creo que es una excelente película, recordando que es una película para adultos, veremos el viaje de desarrollo de un personaje peculiar como es Bella Baxter. Recomendable.
In the end, I think it is an excellent film, remembering that it is a film for adults, we will see the journey of development of a peculiar character such as Bella Baxter. Recommended.
