Después de cierto tiempo he decidido ver una adaptación de los libros de Jane Austen, en esta caso Sensatez y sentimientos. Los libros son muy buenos, y esperaba que esta adaptación estuviera a la altura. Estrenada en 1995, siendo su director Ang Lee.
After some time I have decided to see an adaptation of Jane Austen's books, in this case Sense and Feelings. The books are very good, and I was hoping that this adaptation would be up to par. Released in 1995, being its director Ang Lee.
Sinopsis: En una Inglaterra de siglos pasados. Las hermanas Dashwood: Elinor, Marianne y Margaret, son las hijas de un padre que no les ha podido dejar ninguna herencia; debido a ello, se han tenido que trasladar a vivir al campo. Es en ese nuevo lugar, conocerán unos posibles pretendientes para las hermanas mayores; en el que dudando de sus intenciones responderán con sensatez y sentimientos.
Synopsis: In an England of past centuries. The Dashwood sisters: Elinor, Marianne and Margaret, are the daughters of a father who has not been able to leave them any inheritance; because of this, they have had to move to live in the countryside. It is in this new place, they will meet some possible suitors for the older sisters; in which doubting their intentions they will respond with good sense and feelings.
Al tener las hermanas(Elinor y Marianne) cierta premura por encontrar pareja, tratarán de avanzar con sus posibles pretendientes; sin embargo, las hermanas tienen diferentes modos para tratar con el tema. Una con decoro y sensatez, mientras la otra se dejará llevar más rápido por sus emociones.
As the sisters (Elinor and Marianne) are in a certain hurry to find a partner, they will try to make progress with their possible suitors; however, the sisters have different ways of dealing with the subject. One with decorum and good sense, while the other will be more quickly carried away by her emotions.
A diferencia del libro, en que creo se logra un mayor profundidad en los temas abordados, por la duración de la película se tienen que apresurar eventos; a su vez, que intenta mostrar más una historia romántica que otro tema. A pesar de ello, la historia te envuelve en su mundo, logrando hacerte interesar por el porvenir de las hermanas.
Unlike the book, in which I believe a greater depth is achieved in the themes addressed, because of the length of the film, events have to be rushed; at the same time, it tries to show more of a romantic story than any other theme. Despite this, the story envelops you in its world, making you interested in the future of the sisters.
La fotografía es buena, ya que sabe aprovechar los bellos campos y escenarios que se muestran en toda la película. El sonido si bien hace uso de los temas de fondo, a veces falla en escenarios exteriores.
The cinematography is good, as it knows how to take advantage of the beautiful fields and scenery shown throughout the film. The sound, while making use of the background themes, sometimes fails in outdoor scenes.
La actuación es buena, pero la que deslumbra a mi parecer es Emma Thompson como la hermana mayor Elinor; tiene demasiadas escenas que muestra emociones complicadas de trasladar al cine, pero las hace bastante bien.
The acting is good, but the one that dazzles in my opinion is Emma Thompson as the older sister Elinor; she has too many scenes that show emotions that are complicated to transfer to film, but she does them quite well.
Esta adaptación cumplió mis expectativas, te entretiene y logra trasladar de buena manera los personajes y sus vidas. Recomendable, en especial si te gusta el romance.
This adaptation met my expectations, it entertains you and manages to convey the characters and their lives in a good way. Recommended, especially if you like romance.
