Hace unos meses llegué a ver “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”, película que intenta trasladar el juego de rol a la pantalla grande; en este caso, basado en una serie web de rol, se lanzó esta serie que nos pone en un nuevo mundo fantástico. Se estrenó su primera temporada el 2022 en Amazon Prime.
A few months ago I got to see "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves", a movie that tries to transfer the role-playing game to the big screen; in this case, based on a role-playing web series, this series that puts us in a new fantasy world was launched. It premiered its first season in 2022 on Amazon Prime.
Sinopsis: La historia está ambientada en un mundo fantástico. Donde existen dragones, druidas, reinos, bárbaros, osos guerreros y un largo etcétera. En ese mundo, existe el grupo llamado Vox Machina, compuesta por una variedad de personajes, que a pesar de su mala fama, podrán cumplir misiones imposibles.
Synopsis: The story is set in a fantastic world. Where there are dragons, druids, kingdoms, barbarians, warrior bears and a long etcetera. In that world, there is a group called Vox Machina, composed of a variety of characters, who despite their bad reputation, can fulfill impossible missions.
Si bien creía que la serie iba a mostrar muchas misiones, en realidad solo hay 2 principales, y es la segunda, enfocada en la venganza del personaje Percy, la que abarca la mayoría de episodios. Hay mucho enfoque en la aventura, acción y comedia.
While I thought the series was going to show a lot of missions, in reality there are only 2 main ones, and it is the second one, focused on the revenge of the character Percy, which covers most of the episodes. There is a lot of focus on adventure, action and comedy.
Hace un buen juego en la variedad de clases de los personajes, y cómo pueden ayudar para resolver los diversos problemas que se encuentran; a su vez, se irá conociendo el pasado de cada uno poco a poco. Ese tal vez sea el problema de los primeros episodios, el no conocer nada de tantos personajes, pero que se va solucionando ya para el final.
It makes a good play on the variety of character classes, and how they can help to solve the various problems they encounter; in turn, you will learn about each one's past little by little. That may be the problem of the first episodes, not knowing anything about so many characters, but that is solved by the end.
La animación es 2d, pero hace un buen trabajo, entre ello destaca el buen opening. Hay variadas canciones, incluida algunas realizadas por el bardo del grupo. Las voces en inglés son de lo mejor.
The animation is 2d, but it does a good job, among it stands out the good opening. There are several songs, including some made by the bard of the group. The English voices are the best.
Si te gustan los mundos fantásticos mezclados con su toque de comedia, esta serie animada es bastante recomendable.
If you like fantasy worlds mixed with a touch of comedy, this animated series is highly recommended.
