Today I will review a Chinese drama again. This series is one of the first far east TV series I discovered. It's about comedy, youth and love. Actually, just to say youth is a bit of an understatement. We will talk about a sports youth. In particular, two sports branches are in the foreground. Short track speed skating and ice hockey.
I can say that this series has instructive aspects. He has reflected many concepts such as sportsmanship, success, failure, teamwork, love and cooperation very effectively. I think the messages of the series are very valuable. I think it is very nice that this detail has been considered especially for the younger audience. Let's examine the content and characters of the series a little bit!
Skate Into Love
The lead roles in the series are Janice Wu and Steven Zhang. Steven Zhang is Li Yu Bing, the ice god of his school and the star player of the ice hockey team. His friends call him BingBing. There are many girls who are in love with him but he is not interested in any of them. Janice Wu plays the role of master Tang Xue. Tang Xue's nickname is master. That's what her friends and family call her.
Tang Xue is a very kind hearted girl as a character. She does anything for her friends. A protective and a leader. She got injured in a speed skating competition years ago. In fact, it was very upsetting for her to experience this injury while her career was rising. This is how she said goodbye to short track speed skating. However, years later, she remembered this passion at the university and embarked on a new adventure. While her family wanted her to be a good veterinarian, she secretly started to follow her passion.
In fact, these two meet by chance. But the two of them have a great history. Tang Xue and Li Yu Bing's childhood friends. Tang Xue bullied Li Yu Bing when she was younger, and Li Yu Bing went to a different school. Tang Xue was heartbroken as she didn't know why Li Yu Bing went to a different school. But years later they met again.
Tang Xue is the assistant of the ice hockey team this time, and Li Yu Bing is the captain of the ice hockey team. It is time for revenge for Li Yu Bing. It has already begun to avenge the past. But he never thought that he would fall in love with Tang Xue, whom he was bullying. It is this love that allows Tang Xue to return to sports and accelerate the couple's love story.
Episodes were approximately 40 minutes and there are 40 episodes available. It wasn't a boring series. The inclusion of many emotions in the series is also a good step for fluency. I think not watching happy or sad scenes all the time increases the realism. I think that especially young actors reflect emotions such as disappointment and anxiety very well. At such moments, the fact that they fell into despair and became more angry, like many young people, reminded me of myself.
Finally, I will state a few ideas about the scenes and end my review.
Stage lighting is pretty good. I just think some of the scenes in the ice rink are dark. There is nothing that makes it difficult to watch. But I would still like to watch something on the same level as the lighting in other scenes. The make-ups are sufficient and do not reduce the realism of the facial expressions. The performances of the supporting actors are also quite good. It was also a sweet detail to see a couple, especially apart from the lead actors.
