There are films with clearly defined themes, aimed at a specific audience; notably, this film has a very patriotic American perspective at the core of its narrative 🫡🫡—one that is embellished with various elements of nature and brotherly unity to reach the rest of the audience, represented by the wild, stillness, beauty, and that ancestral connection between humans and dogs—which, thanks to the palpable loyalty that exists between them 🥹🥹, has allowed us to survive as a species for millennia by facing and working together to overcome impossible obstacles and move forward to find happiness 🐶🐶
Heart of the Beast is a film that’s still in theaters as of the date of this post, and I highly recommend seeing it on the big screen. It features big names that will certainly draw a lot of commercial attention—Brad Pitt, as the human lead, is, I think, overshadowed by a little dog with strikingly expressive facial expressions. Odin the dog has those wistful little eyes that tell a story 🥹🥹
I’d like to highlight that this film has great country music full of emotion. I heard it in the theater and liked it right away; when I got home, I looked it up, and it’s a really good song. I’m sharing it with you because I love it when movies have music that gives them a unique personality that sets them apart from the rest—and that’s exactly how I felt about this one 🥲🥲
I’m sharing the trailer with you so you can get a much better idea of what this story is about. I want to emphasize that just watching a few seconds is enough 🧐🧐, that way you’ll give the film a chance to surprise you even more, just as it did for me 🤩🤩—I never expected the ordeal the protagonist and his pet had to go through on this adventure 😱😱
I saw it in theaters with the intention of observing the reactions of those around me 🤔🤔, and I saw people reaching for tissues during the most dramatic moments of the movie. There’s a very sad yet courageous melancholy in seeing a person and their pet help each other—I think this is what many of us will connect with when watching this film 🥲🥲👍🏻
It was nice to see so many young people at the theater. I like this film directed by David Ayer, whom I’ve known since his work on Suicide Squad. I think these kinds of movies are necessary to teach the collective consciousness to respect and value pets—and animals in general—because, yes, we are a superior species thanks to the gift of reason; therefore, that gives us the responsibility to care for and love the nature around us—an idea that I believe must be continually reinforced so that future generations will come to value it through their pets
One subliminal detail I want to point out is that I noticed the film criticized fats from a nutritional standpoint 🧐🧐. This negative criticism might surprise you, but there’s the subliminal message—one I didn’t like and am criticizing because, in reality, there are other things that actually cause more damage to our little hearts. I think the heart failure element is the worst part of the film, since you could remove all of that—along with the unnecessary subliminal message I already mentioned—and leave it as simply a mechanical failure 🤔🤔
Another point worth criticizing is that, since they’re so focused on their own people—specifically those in the U.S.—they don’t care about the rest of the global audience. I didn’t care either, because who’s sending them off to fight in so many wars, several of which I consider unnecessary, like the one we’re currently experiencing? 🤨🤨
I admire true patriotism, which is why I take issue with the film’s military ethos—I don’t like seeing the military used irrationally in political conflicts. I mention this because I think there’s a large audience in the rest of the world that won’t connect with this, and it will affect their viewing experience because, as it happens, that's exactly what's affecting the puppy 😑😑
One concept that is well executed and developed in the film is the age-old bond between dogs and humans; it evokes beautiful emotions as we watch the adventure that unites the souls of a human and their faithful companion in nature 🐶 🐶
I greatly admire the Americans’ boundless sense of national pride in freedom, which is continually reinforced through cinema—that patriotism and appreciation for their soldiers, which is in turn wrapped in a very warm embrace of nature, of rediscovering peace in simply being happy alongside the ones you love most, because with that, you have everything in life 🥹🥹👍🏻
I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.
