If you are looking for a good thriller with more twists and turns then you can count – than this movie is for you.
In this movie, John Cho plays David Kim, a single-father whose 16-year-old daughter, Margot, goes missing. As he realizes that he doesn't know his daughter well he goes into her laptop and social media accounts to try and reconstruct her life.
Almost the entire movie is shown from a computer screen, so if you're watching on a laptop like I did – no your computer did not suddenly decided to turn the movie off and start windows again – it's part of the movie. I guess it is a gimmick, but it's an effective one.
The acting was really good in this movie. John Cho was great, you can really see that he gets more and more desperate as time goes by and his smart decisions turn into bad one. Debra Messing was great as detective Vick, really, I forgot that she can even act outside of Will & Grace and she actually has acting range.
The twists and turns in the investigation were really good and mostly unpredictable, especially the end. I did not see it coming. However, the script became kind of weak and cliché at the end. Sometimes clichés work and sometimes they don't, here, I feel that they did not.
Still it was a good thriller and kept me interested throughout the movie. I highly recommend that you check it out.
I give it 8/10
