Our appointment today is with a new review of the movie "extraction," released about a week ago on Netflix. The film was written by starring Joe Russo, owner of the Avengers series. He is also directed by director Sam Hargrave, who has shared with him in most of Marvel's works. The film is not of the quality of new films, it tells us a story that is familiar, but the creativity of the hero, Chris Hemsworth, had another opinion.
The story
The film tells the story of a Bangladeshi drug chief who kidnapped the son of a drug chief in India. The hero Chris is chosen to do the editing job as he is a veteran darling in a plot that we may have seen in many films. The access process seems very easy, but difficulties start with the difficulty of getting the boy out and freeing them. Chris faces many dangers and is forced to do many killings and many and prolonged and intense confrontations for the liberation of the leader's son continue.
An impression of the story
It seems that the story of the movie is familiar to everyone, such as kidnapping and editing, which we have seen in many films, but the director here narrowed creative touches, as well as the hero, to give the work its own distinctiveness. For example, you won't find lengthy action scenes, burning cars, and an angry hero who ruthlessly kills like Jhon wick in Chris here. He plays a very quiet role as if he does not want anything or plays a retirement match. We find the distinction in chases is the unique style followed by the director, because he does not want to present an action fight in the traditional way, but we find that there is a special philosophy in the chase. The most prominent example is in a chase that lasted about 11 minutes between alleys, housing and floors without interruption in the scene.
Photography
Photography was one of the most prominent elements in the movie, which was shown to us in scenes of chases and follows the camera to Chris. In one scene, Chris met five characters as if in one shot, the camera was moving smoothly and with great sophistication. Some of the scenes were not Ragnon's vehicle, it was very long, as the camera was following the events as if you were running next to them and watching what is happening on the ground.
Hero
Chris, the devastated super hero, did not represent, for example, the director's films in Marvel's world, nor did he represent the angry person who goes out of his way and then begins to destroy the gang. He was more like a bold character with wisdom, as he combined drama and action. This does not mean that Chris spared effort, but the director's philosophy had a role in that.
personal opinion
In fact, I do not like action films of this type in particular, due to the repetition that occurs in most films and the expected end of most of them. But the touches of director Sam really liked the truth and changed my view of the film after I saw it. He mixed us with drama and action. For example, the kidnapped boy was not a young child to make us sympathize, but rather a young man with an interaction and personality. And our hero was not the angry superhero, but wisdom punctuated by drama. All of these factors made the artwork look great.
