The Far Side of the World, directed by Peter Weir and starring Russell Crowe, is simply a first-class naval epic, telling the story of the adventures of Captain Jack Aubrey and his crew on the British ship HMS Surprise during the Napoleonic Wars. The film takes you into the life of sailors at that time, with all its difficult and risky details, and from the first scene you feel that you are with the passengers on the ship.
