A few days ago I commented on my first impressions of Peaky Blinders, I have been dedicating some time to it and I already managed to finish with the second season, so, let's start:
To be honest, the first season left me with a more or less bitter taste, not because it was bad but because I felt that there were a couple of pieces that did not quite fit me, the second season corrects a large part of these flaws.
Although it may seem extremely formulaic, Peaky Blinders feels a little more comfortable with herself, embracing this world of violence and excess and introducing a couple of quite interesting new subplots.
It does not waste time letting anything settle, it does not seek to build tension throughout its chapters, it is effective and quick and that progressively begins to work.
The acting is incredible and the writing has improved considerably, although it still retains those tumblr vibes that could take some of us out of the experience there are a couple of honestly brillant scenes -Attention to the scene that Cillian Murphy shares with the new addition to the cast, Tom Hardy, in the last chapter -.
To attack Peaky Blinders you have to look for problems that do not exist, ignore their nature and expect things that it has never wanted to offer, so I personally accept it for what it is: A good drama.
