Among so many films in the Fast And Furious franchise, especially after the third installment, it was easy to see the identity crisis coming that the subsequent installments would suffer, what started as a series of movies about cars and a little action was folding and folding the bet, until it becomes a blockbuster show that has more of superheroes than tuning culture.
The change of vision, as expected, uncomfortable for some and pleases many, if we take into account the figures Fast And Furious has reached at the box office from Fast Five onwards, which are not exactly small.
Personally, I am not bothered by the change but I am not dying of emotion either, I have spoken a couple of times here about my experience with this saga and I feel that the peak of quality was in the fifth installment, which although I do not complain about the most recent If I feel like they lost a bit of charm.
For all this, I was very surprised that Hobbs And Shaw, a kind of spin-off of 2019 that brings together two characters from the last chapters of the saga in an adventure that combines espionage, action and superheroes (?) Was quite pleasant.
You have to take everything as the North Americans say, with a grain of salt, although it is far from perfect and it fucks up the internal canon of the saga a bit (Or what's left of it, let's remember that Shaw killed Han), Hobbs And Shaw is a much more focused film, and it is something that they needed for many years.
A fun and surprisingly well-written film (What a good chemistry Dwayne Jonhson with Jason Statham), that feels fresh even if it repeats a formula that we have already seen several times. Also notable is the role of Idris Elba, who, although he walks in an absurd position as an almost cartoonish villain, never feels out of place.
Years of balancing between different genres and approaches end up producing a great action movie that has no problem keeping us interested.
We must also recognize the good cast that makes up the film, with interesting appearances by Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart. Vanessa Kirby is another pleasant surprise as Hattie Shaw, who could easily be defined as the best female character in the entire saga, her presence, apart, serves to add complexity and depth to other characters that until now were extremely one-dimensional.
The plot has the low points of it, and it is easy to find problems with it, but it serves the film, maintains its rhythm and effectively entertains.

Entre tantas películas de la franquicia de Fast And Furious, especialmente luego de la tercera entrega era fácil ver venir la crisis de identidad que sufrirían las entregas posteriores, lo que empezó como una serie de películas sobre coches y un poco de acción fue doblando y doblando la apuesta, hasta convertirse en un espectáculo blockbuster que tiene más de superhéroes que de cultura tunning.
El cambio de visión, como era de esperar, incómoda a algunos y agrada a muchos, si tomamos en cuenta las cifras Fast And Furious ha alcanzado en taquilla desde Fast Five en adelante, que no son pequeñas precisamente.
A mi, personalmente no me molesta el cambio pero tampoco muero de emoción, he hablado un par de veces aquí sobre mi experiencia con esta saga y siento que la cúspide de calidad fue en la quinta entrega, que aunque no me quejo de las más recientes si siento que perdieron un poco de encanto.
Por todo esto, me sorprendió muchísimo que Hobbs And Shaw, una suerte de spin-off de 2019 que junta a dos personajes de los últimos capítulos de la saga en una aventura que combina espionaje, acción y superhéroes (?) resultara bastante agradable.
Hay que tomar todo como dicen los norteamericanos, con un grano de sal, aunque dista de ser perfecta y jode un poco el canon interno de la saga (O lo que queda de ella, recordemos que Shaw mató a Han), Hobbs And Shaw es una cinta muchísimo más enfocada, y es algo que necesitaban desde hace muchos años.
Un espectáculo divertidísimo y sorprendentemente bien escrito (Que aparte, que buena química la de Dwayne Jonhson con Jason Statham ), se siente fresco aunque repita una fórmula que ya hemos visto varias veces. Notable también el rol de Idris Elba, que aunque anda en una posición absurda como villano casi caricaturesco nunca se siente fuera de lugar.
Años de balancearse entre distintos géneros y enfoques terminan produciendo una genial cinta de acción que no tiene problemas en mantenernos interesados.
También hay que reconocer el buen cast que conforma la película, con interesantes apariciones de Ryan Reynolds y Kevin Hart. Vanessa Kirby es otra agradable sorpresa como Hattie Shaw, quien fácilmente podría definirse como el mejor personaje femenino de toda la saga, su presencia, aparte, sirve para añadir complejidad y profundidad a otros personajes que hasta el momento resultaban extremadamente unidimensionales.
La trama tiene sus momentos bajos, y es fácil encontrar problemas con ella, pero sirve al film, mantiene su ritmo y entretiene efectivamente.
