I want to start by mentioning that this post is a direct sequel to my review of the first part of Fear Street: 1994, although it is not entirely necessary to read it to understand what I am commenting here if it can help to solidify several of my points.
I'm not in the mood to pretend that I wasn't quite attracted to the way Fear Street is structured, although it's not the most ingenious idea in the world I highly appreciate its concept: a horror story that spans a number of epochs and it is shown to us in a short period of time, taking full advantage of how everything works in the streaming era.
Although it was far from perfect, the first part of Fear Street set in 1994 was an efficient horror movie, at the same time that it intelligently supplied pieces of information for us to solve a simple mystery hand in hand with its protagonists.
1978 carries several of its strengths and weaknesses, at the same time that it shakes up a bit what we had already seen.
With a much more classic slasher approach (which can be seen from the classic setting of an American summer camp, to the personality of all the new characters that are introduced here), 1978 returns to express a form of nostalgia with mixed results.
Unfortunately, a considerable part of its start feels quite unfocused, with a story that fails to hold our attention (if we compare it with the first part) and characters with not very clear dynamics.
On the positive side, it contributes to the film that the visual aspect maintains the neatness that for the moment has characterized the trilogy but knows how to slightly alter the color palette to be used, generating a freshness that attracts and invites to complete the work.
The new pieces of information handed out to us seem to contribute little or nothing to the knowledge we already had, while the movie suffers a bit wandering over points that were either obvious or felt momentarily superfluous to the eventual climax of the saga.
Generally speaking, Fear Street remains consistent, has a considerable amount of problems and the passing of time makes them more and more notable, but it still has the urge to tell a dense and funny story, with a respectable level of coherence within its herself and a love for slasher that emerges from every frame.
The constant references to your own universe lend a bit of solidity to what sadly feels more disconnected than it should, though none of this destroys the overall experience as a whole.
Fear Street 2 loses the momentum that gained the first part although it is still a pleasant experience.

Quiero empezar mencionando que este post es una secuela directa a mi reseña sobre la primera parte de Fear Street: 1994, si bien no es enteramente necesario leerla para entender lo que comento aquí si puede ayudar a solidificar varios de mis puntos.
No tengo ánimos de fingir que no me sentía bastante atraído por la forma en que Fear Street se estructura, si bien no se trata de la idea más ingeniosa del mundo aprecio bastante su concepto: una historia de terror que se extiende a lo largo de diversas épocas y se nos muestra en un corto periodo de tiempo, aprovechando totalmente como funciona todo en la era del streaming.
Si bien distaba de ser perfecta, la primera parte de Fear Street ubicada en el año 1994 era una película de terror eficiente, al mismo tiempo que suministraba de forma inteligente piezas de información para que nosotros fuésemos resolviendo un simple misterio de la mano con sus protagonistas.
1978 arrastra varias de sus virtudes y defectos, al mismo tiempo que sacude un poco lo que ya habíamos visto.
Con un enfoque de slasher mucho más clásico (Lo cual se puede notar desde el clásico setting de un campamento de verano estadounidense, hasta la personalidad de todos los personajes nuevos que se introducen aquí), 1978 vuelve a exprimir una forma de nostalgia con resultados mixtos.
Lastimosamente, una parte considerable de su arranque se siente bastante desenfocado, con una historia que fracasa en mantener nuestra atención (Si la comparamos con la primera parte) y personajes con dinámicas no muy claras.
En el lado positivo contribuye al film que el aspecto visual mantenga la pulcritud que de momento ha caracterizado a la trilogía pero sabe alterar ligeramente la paleta de colores a utilizar, generando una frescura que atrae e invita a completar la obra.
Las nuevas piezas de información que se nos entregaron parecen contribuir poco o nada al conocimiento que ya teníamos, mientras que la película sufre un poco dando vueltas por puntos que o eran obvios o se sienten momentáneamente superfluos para el eventual clímax de la saga.
En términos generales Fear Street se mantiene de forma consistente, tiene una cantidad considerable de problemas y El Paso del tiempo los hace cada vez más notables, pero sigue teniendo ansias de narrar una historia densa y divertida, con un nivel de coherencia respetable dentro de su misma y un amor por los slasher que se desprende desde cada frame.
Las constantes referencias a su propio universo le dan un poco de solidez a lo que tristemente se siente más desconectado de lo que debería, aunque nada de esto destruye la experiencia general en su totalidad.
Fear Street 2 pierde el momentum que ganó la primera parte aunque sigue siendo una experiencia grata.
