In the early 2010s we face a renaissance in animation, new creatives inspired by classics from Nick, Cartoon Network and Disney come to light, presenting new ideas that mostly take advantage of a simple but effective art style to build complex worlds where there is something for people of all ages: Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, Gumball, etc ... not to mention gems of adult animation like Bojack Horseman or Rick And Morty.
In the midst of all this, the masterpiece of Alex Hirsch was born, who would previously work on more than one of the series I just mentioned. A series that masterfully mixes mystery and science fiction, and tells what is probably one of the most solid stories recently told in "children's" animation: Gravity Falls.
Defining Gravity Falls as childish is almost offensive, not because its approach is precisely adult, but because it respects its audience like no other, without cheap tricks or holes in its plot, the story of Dipper and Mabel has a very good structure, where it shows that everything was planned from the beginning.
This solidity at no time means sacrificing the tenderness and comedy typical of any animated series, which often hides an adult undertone for the elders of the house to enjoy.
Excellently acted in both its original English version and its Latin Spanish dubbing, Gravity Falls engages and surprises.
While most episodes are self-concluding in nature, there are pieces of information that serve a purpose within the overall plot, just like any good series, Gravity Falls rewards attention and consistency, allowing you to theorize about what the future holds.
Another point in favor (which may seem strange) is the compactness of its duration, although it had to be hard for its creator, GF knew how to finish when it should finish, and this decision is evident in the consistent quality of its seasons, without spending time on unnecessary things.
Gravity Falls is not only excellent from the narrative, but it has a great amount of animation, and although it is over, I would enjoy seeing some kind of spin off located in this same universe, a universe that mixes mythological creatures so well, with advanced technologies and even a bit of esotericism.

A principio de los 2010s enfrentamos un renacimiento en la animación, nuevos creativos inspirados por clásicos de Nick, Cartoon Network y Disney salen a la luz, presentando nuevas ideas que en su mayoría aprovechan un estilo de arte sencillo pero efectivo para construir complejos mundos en donde hay algo para gente de todas las edad: Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, Gumball, etc… eso sin mencionar joyas de la animación para adulto como Bojack Horseman o Rick And Morty.

Una serie que mezcla el misterio y la ciencia ficción de forma magistral, y cuenta lo que probablemente sea una de las historias más sólidas que se han narrado recientemente en animación “infantil”: Gravity Falls.
Definir Gravity Falls como infantil es casi ofensivo, no porque su enfoque sea precisamente adulto, sino porque respeta a su audiencia como ninguna, sin trucos baratos o agujeros en su trama, la historia de Dipper y Mabel tiene una estructura buenísima, en donde se nota que todo estaba planeado desde el principio.
Esta solidez en ningún momento supone sacrificar la ternura y la comedia propia de cualquier serie animada, que muchas veces esconde un subtono adulto para que los mayores de la casa disfruten.
Excelentemente actuada tanto en su versión original en inglés como en su doblaje español latino, Gravity Falls engancha y sorprende.
Si bien la mayoría de los episodios tienen una naturaleza autoconclusiva, existen piezas de información que sirven un propósito dentro de la trama general, al igual que cualquier buena serie, Gravity Falls recompensa la atención y constancia, permitiendo teorizar sobre que deparará en el futuro.
Otro punto a favor (Que puede parecer extraño) es lo compacto de su duración, aunque tuvo que ser duro para su creador, GF supo terminar cuando debía terminar, y esta decisión se nota en la consistente calidad de sus temporadas, sin gastar tiempo en cosas innecesarias.
Gravity Falls no solo es excelsa desde lo narrativo, sino que tiene una gran cantidad de animación, y aunque ya terminó, disfrutaría ver algún tipo de spin off ubicado en este mismo universo, universo que mezcla tan bien criaturas mitológicas, con avanzadas tecnologías e incluso un poco de esoterismo.
