Jackass Forever (2022) review: finding comfort in the chaos.

I have always found quite curious the idea that those who pretend to be passionate about cinema are the first to jump to almost systematically discard all those works that do not fit perfectly with their very restricted standards.

Loving cinema, by its nature, is as obvious an action as doing the same with food or music, it is such a crucial part of our functioning as human beings that it is difficult to conceive of a life without those things, even though eating is a necessity. biological and the rest falls into a slightly more recreational area.

What is my point with all this? Well, beyond digressing, I like the idea of ​​acknowledging that although certain things may not align with our personal preferences, there is a certain maturity in the ability that many viewers (I like to include myself) have when it comes to recognizing objective and subjective value. of almost any work, regardless of whether we don't enjoy them or find them lousy.

This mentality is necessary when we talk about films like Jackass Foverer, which not only exist to break the paradigms of what we understand as traditional cinema, but in return give us a fun and untethered experience.

The latest official installment of the series, released recently, demonstrates a great deal of effort to stay true to its own format, a format that logically should not work in our current society.

We can call it foolishness, irreverence, rebellion... but it undoubtedly gives us comfort. Jackass Forever has no desire to reassess its style of humor or the grotesque nature of its gags, it does not adapt to the times or give in to external pressures.

And that is wonderful.

Of course, we have new members in the cast and a couple of very nice guest appearances (I highlight the presence of Tyler the Creator and Eric Andre) who organically coexist with the veterans in the gang. The visual presentation is very well carried out and despite its disorganized structure, it never gets heavy.

Jackass Forever is a movie that can be wonderful or disastrous, I just hope that as an audience we are willing to change our perspectives.

Siempre he encontrado bastante curiosa la idea de que aquellos que pretenden sentir pasión por el cine son los primeros que saltan a descartar de forma casi sistemática todas aquellas obras que no encajan a la perfección con sus estándares tan restringidos.

Amar el cine, por su naturaleza, es una acción tan obvia como hacer lo mismo con la comida o la música, es una parte tan crucial de nuestro funcionamiento como seres humanos que es difícil concebir una vida sin esas cosas, aunque comer sea una necesidad biológica y lo demás caíga en un área un poco más recreativa.

¿Cuál es mi punto con todo esto? Bueno, más allá de divagar, me gusta la idea de reconocer que aunque ciertas cosas no se alinean con nuestras preferencias personales, existe cierta madurez en la capacidad que tenemos muchos espectadores (Me gusta incluirme) cuando se trata de reconocer el valor objetivo y subjetivo de casi cualquier obra, independientemente de que no las disfrutemos o las encontremos pésimas.

Está mentalidad es necesaria cuando hablamos de filmes como Jackass Foverer, que no solo existen para romper los paradigmas de lo que entendemos como cine tradicional, sino que a cambio nos otorgan una experiencia divertida y sin ataduras.

La última entrega oficial de la serie, estrenada recientemente, demuestra una gran cantidad se esfuerzo por mantenerse fiel a su propio formato, un formato que en términos lógicos no debería funcionar en nuestra sociedad actual.

Podemos llamarlo necedad, irreverencia, rebeldía... pero indudablemente nos entrega comfort. Jackass Forever no tiene ningún tipo de afán por reevaluar su estilo de humor o la naturaleza grotesca de sus gags, no se adapta a los tiempos que corren ni cede ante las presiones externas.

Y eso es maravilloso.

Por supuesto, tenemos nuevos miembros en el cast y un par de apariciones especiales bastante gratas (Destaco la presencia de Tyler the Creator y Eric Andre) que coexisten orgánicamente con los veteranos en la pandilla. La presentación visual está muy bien llevada y a pesar de lo desorganizado de su estructura en ningún momento se hace pesada.

Jackass Forever es una película que puede ser maravillosa o desastrosa, solo espero que como público estemos dispuestos a cambiar nuestras ópticas.
