Mortal Kombat the film is a film that could be described with many words but boring is not one of it, although from the cinematographic point of view I feel that it leaves much to be desired as a by-product of the story this other, for this I wanted to segment my comments into two posts (one focused on the film in isolation, and another reviewing it as the product of a video game franchise).
Mortal Kombat's flaws are its very virtues, the zeal of fan service that ends up destroying the plot and the general rhythm of the film with a constant bombardment of information and characters at the same time gives us moments that every fan will appreciate.

No, Mortal Kombat titles have a series of peculiarities that make them work, in theory, it is a mixture of aesthetics and narrative styles that should not work, but under a concept as absurd as that of a mortal combat to save destiny of the earth everything ends up working. This is replenished by the arcade style of the video game and how pleasant it is to have a template with such varied characters, each one, of course, has a background, some of a more serious nature than others, but everything always ends up operating under the logic of their games, without questioning too much as players, after all, fun is what should come first.
This is probably where the film suffers the most, trying to mix all those influences and varieties, not everything is dark of course, there are a couple of achievements that must be recognized.

However, the overall result is satisfactory, as long as you turn off your brain.
Any rational person will have low expectations when facing this film, and will end up feeling quite grateful, it is pure and simple entertainment without absurd depth.

I totally recommend Mortal Kombat for fans of the franchise and for those who want excessive violence, it captures with more or less the soul of these titles, and it will rekindle the desire to play some games, which in the end is what is most enjoyed.
Mortal Kombat la película es una cinta que podría describirse con muchas palabras pero aburrida no es una de ella, aunque desde lo cinematográfico siento que deja mucho que desear como producto derivado el cuento esto otro, por esto quise segmentar mis comentarios en dos posts (uno enfocado a la película de forma aislada, y otro revisándola como el producto de una franquicia de videojuegos).
Las fallas de Mortal Kombat son sus mismas virtudes, el afán del fan service que termina destruyendo la trama y el ritmo general de la película con un bombardeo de información y personajes constante al mismo tiempo nos otorga momentazos que todo fan sabrá apreciar.

La pregunta es, ¿Es mejor que los videojuegos? No, los títulos de Mortal Kombat cuentan con una serie de peculiaridades que les hacen funcionar, en teoría, es una mezcla de estética y estilos narrativos que no debería funcionar, pero bajo un concepto tan absurdo como el de un combate mortal para salvar el destino de la tierra todo termina funcionando. Esto se ve reponteciado por el estilo arcada del videojuego y lo agradable que es tener una plantilla con personajes tan variados, cada uno, por supuesto, tiene un background, algunos de naturaleza un poco más seria que otras, pero todo siempre termina operando bajo la lógica de sus juegos, sin que como jugadores cuestionemos demasiado, al fin y al cabo la diversión es lo que debe primar.
Aquí es probablemente donde la cinta sufre más, tratando de mezclar todas esas influencias y variedades, no todo es oscuro por supuesto, hay un par de logros qué hay que reconocer.

No obstante, el resultado general es satisfactorio, siempre y cuando apagues el cerebro.
Cualquier persona racional tendrá expectativas bajas al enfrentar esta cinta, y terminará sintiéndose bastante agradecido, se trata de entretenimiento puro y duro sin profundidad absurda.

Recomiendo totalmente Mortal Kombat para los fans de la franquicia y para aquellos que quieran violencia desmedida, captura con más o menos existo el alma de estos títulos, y reavivará las ganas de echarse unas partidas, que al final es lo que se disfruta más.
