Movie 43 (2013) Review: The worst best movie.

I just saw a film that has made me rethink whether it is a good idea to jump on streaming services without a specific movie to watch in mind, on the one hand, Movie 43 is one of the worst things I have seen in my life ... But, on the other hand, it is also a very interesting product that within its disastrous lack of quality can provoke a rather curious conversation.

With 12 directors behind, several years dealing with a disastrous production and a cast full of top-notch stars and several well-known comedians (We mentioned Hugh Jackman, Emma Stone, Halle Berry and Richard Gere for example), Movie 43 could be described in a few words. as a succession of sketches united by a vulgar and unbridled common thread without any intention of making internal sense, falling considerably on shock humor and our susceptibility to being shocked by what we are seeing on the screen.

Although some sketches start from funny premises and are endorsed by stars of a high level, the general structure of the film ends up ruining any positive momentum that could be gaining.

It is quite a fascinating project that is difficult to hate, as if after its lousy initial 10 minutes we were warned and by deciding to face the rest we became responsible for the disaster that comes afterwards. Movie 43 is proud to waste our time and it is something I totally respect, a recipient of so much talent who is proud to crash.

Acabo de ver un filme que me ha hecho replantear si es buena idea arrojarme a los servicios de streaming sin una película específica por ver en mente, por un lado, Movie 43 es una de las peor cosas que he visto en mi vida... Pero, por otro lado, es también un producto muy interesante que dentro de su desastrosa falta de calidad puede provocar una conversación bastante curiosa.

Con 12 directores detrás, varios años lidiando con una producción desastrosa y un cast plagado de estrellas de primer nivel y varios comediantes reconocidos (Mencionamos a Hugh Jackman, Emma Stone, Halle Berry y Richard Gere por ejemplo), Movie 43 podría describirse en pocas palabras como una sucesion de sketches unidos por un hilo conductor vulgar y desenfrenado sin ninguna intención de tener sentido interno, recayendo considerablemente sobre el shock humor y nuestra susceptibilidad a impactarnos con lo que estamos viendo en pantalla.

Con una vibra general que nos recuerda filmes infames como "Freddy got fingered" Movie 43 opera en un limbo curioso en donde la mala calidad es intencional pero esto no supone que la misma sea entretenida. Aunque algunos sketches parten de premisas divertidas y se encuentran respaldados por estrellas de muchísimo nivel, la estructura general de la película termina arruinando cualquier tipo de momentum positivo que pudiese estar ganando.

Es un proyecto bastante fascinante al que es difícil odiar, como si luego de sus pésimos 10 minutos iniciales estuviésemos advertidos y al decidir afrontar lo demás nos hiciéramos responsables del desastre que viene después. Movie 43 se siente orgullosa de hacernos perder el tiempo y es algo que respeto totalmente, un recipiente de muchísimo talento que está orgulloso de estrellarse.
