My beginnings in the love of cinema have been closely connected to Nolan, who in the late 2000s knew how to rise as one of the greatest living directors in the world, it is not for little, films like Inception and the surprising The Dark Knight accomplished the impossible, a blockbuster that dished out style and substance in almost equal amounts.
Subsequent titles kept the streak going, Interstellar, Dunkirk and now the recent TENET.
If there is something admirable that has made Nolan stand out over time, it is his consistency, not only in terms of quality but also thematic, the spirit of Tenet, although extremely complex, is not far from that seen in classics such as Memento only in 2000, in which was already beginning to play with the concept of time and our perception of it, although not so literally.
Starring John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson (Following his recent habit of landing one interesting role after another) Tenet is the most Nolan film Christopher Nolan has ever created, with all the good and bad that that entails. Defined as an action thriller with sci-fi drops and impressive visuals, Tenet is a relatively simple story wrapped in a complex structure.
The result is an extremely interesting journey in which we cannot do much more than be impressed with the spectacle that unfolds before us, a spectacle that from time to time goes to the trouble of breaking blockbuster cinema conventions as only Nolan could.
The sound design is great and the special effects that accompany each scene are 10/10, its frames, photography and costumes are excellent, in every sense Tenet is a technical and artistic marvel.
So what is the problem? The truth, it all depends on the tastes of each one, Tenet has very interesting rules but it does not always succeed in making them known to its viewers, its nature is extremely deep and although complexity sometimes feels necessary, it can also ruin several plot points with a lot of potential.
From the initial sequence it is a magnetic work, which maintains a good balance between raising new questions and answering previous ones, however, the intentions of the film can become confusing, especially when the action drowns out the dialogue or vice versa. .
Despite all these negative points (which should be reviewed with a magnifying glass) Tenet is an extremely competent action film, which is totally above the rest of the current Blockbuster billboards, intelligent, well done and with a very marked artistic vision.
It will probably require more than one viewing (and I'm sorry that it can't be in a proper IMAX theater) but it will go down in history as one more hit from the master of meaty stories in mainstream cinema today. With a fairly fast pace it manages to captivate, although it is far from having the level of solidity of Incepcion or the intimate and independent nature of memento, there is much to appreciate in Tenet.

Si hay algo admirable que destaque a Nolan a lo largo del tiempo es su consistencia, no solo en términos de calidad sino también temáticos, el espíritu de Tenet aunque extremadamente complejo no dista de lo visto en clásicos como Memento apenas en el año 2000, en los cuales ya empezaba a jugar con el concepto del tiempo y nuestra percepción de el, aunque no fuese tan literalmente.
Protagonizada por John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki y Robert Pattinson (Siguiendo su reciente costumbre de lograr un papel interesante tras otro) Tenet es la cinta más Nolan que Christopher Nolan ha creado, con todo lo bueno y lo malo que eso supone. Definido como un filme de acción y suspenso con gotas de ciencia ficción y un despliegue visual impresionante, Tenet es una historia relativamente simple envuelta en una estructura compleja.
El resultado es un viaje interesantísimo en el que no podemos hacer mucho más que impresionarnos con el espectáculo que se despliega ante nosotros, espectáculo que de vez en cuando se toma la molestia de romper convenciones del cine blockbuster como solo Nolan podría.
El diseño de sonido es estupendo y los efectos especiales que acompañan cada escena son 10/10, sus enmarques, fotografía y vestuario son excelsos, en todo sentido Tenet es una maravilla técnica y artística.
Entonces, ¿Cual es el problema? La verdad, todo depende de los gustos de cada quien, Tenet tiene reglas interesantísimas pero no siempre triunfa haciéndolas conocer a sus espectadores, su naturaleza es extremadamente profunda y aunque la complejidad a veces se siente necesaria, también puede arruinar varios plot points con mucho potencial.
Desde la secuencia inicial se trata de una obra magnética, que mantiene un buen balance entre el hacer surgir nuevas preguntas y responder las previas, no obstante, las intenciones de la cinta pueden llegar a ser confusas, especialmente cuando la acción ahoga los diálogos o viceversa.
A pesar de todos estos puntos negativos (Que deben ser revisados con lupa) Tenet es una cinta de acción extremadamente competente, que se encuentra totalmente encima del resto de las cartelera Blockbuster actual, inteligente, bien hecho y con una visión artística muy marcada.
Probablemente requiera más de un visionado (y lamento que no puedan ser en una sala IMAX apropiada) pero pasara a la historia como un hit más del maestro de las historias sustanciosas en el cine mainstream de la actualidad. Con un ritmo bastante acelerado logra cautivar, aunque dista de tener el nivel de solidez de Incepcion o la naturaleza íntima e independiente de memento, hay mucho que apreciar en Tenet.
