Clinical (netflix movie review)

Review by @roadstories · 1391d · of Clinical

Greetings guys, good morning to all. Today I thought I was going to take the day off or rather I wasn't going to post any reviews because I found it almost impossible to watch anything last night. However, my health was a bit broken and in a way that allowed me to watch a movie until I could wait for the sickness to go away.

Unlike other days I picked this movie from my list of random plots, I probably saw the trailer once and it caught my attention, but the truth is that I would have liked not to see it.

The first thing I can say is that there is a lousy exemplification of what a psychiatrist is, that is, to see someone "professional" drawing and scribbling in his notebook pretending to listen to his patient is quite rude and to my knowledge I don't think it is part of reality no matter how distracted the person is.

The other thing is that it was pretty gross to have to see so much blood in such a crude way in the plot. I mean, it's not every day you watch a teenage girl run something sharp across her neck to spill all the blood on her body. Although looking at it from a positive point of view and taking into account that it is a movie, the blood looked very real.

But well, the plot is mostly about certain psychological traumas, from sexual abuse that has marked a totally traumatized and insecure teenager, to panic attacks due to stress and post-traumatic processes due to accidents.

One of the things I question is that if a psychology professional knows that he or she has his or her own traumas, this could easily condition the sessions he or she has with patients, and this is something that can be seen in this plot.

These days I was just listening to a psychologist saying that he is also human and therefore he can also suffer from some minimal or invasive psychological disorder that could limit his profession and therein lies the importance of attending in time, especially if it is something as "simple" (because that is how the world sees it) as a depression.

This professional was suffering from a disorder so strong that it even produces sleeping problems and sleep paralysis, which by the way both I have experienced and the last named is horrible.

For those who do not know sleep paralysis is when you are sleeping, you feel that you wake up, your whole environment is basically real as it was before you fell asleep, you feel that you can look at everything, move your fingers but you can not do anything with the rest of your body and that is when panic mixes and produces a shock of fear and imagine threatening things like even thinking that we are dead.

All these disorders, as I mentioned, make it difficult for her to help her patients and even make her personal life complicated, especially because she is meeting someone.

Everything changes for her when she receives a call from someone asking for her help with a case of post-traumatic disorder, something that her own psychologist and friend had refused to accept since it could affect her positive evolution to her own mental suffering.

However, as time goes by, we see that she accepts and from then on, secrets and traumas begin to be revealed that further complicate the situation of both the patient and the psychiatrist.

What she does not know is that everything that happens in her professional life keeps a certain connection with both her past and her trauma. A thirst for revenge plagues her life, a harassment that becomes a death threat, whose trauma has a root and an end.
