Este review es sobre la película del año en curso "Duro de Cuidar 2", la secuela de la película del 2017 donde vimos a Ryan Reynolds intepretar a Michael Bryce, un guardaespaldas rango AAA que se topa con Darius Kincaid, un asesino a sueldo interpretado por Samuel L. Jackson, quien debe llegar a La Haya para testificar contra un criminal buscado en todo el mundo interpretado por Gary Oldman. En Duro de cuidar, vimos en un momento a la esposa de Darius, Sonia, interpretada por Salma Hayek, quien será extremadamente relevante en la historia de la segunda entrega.

Hi Hivers! This review is about the current year's movie "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard", the sequel to the 2017 movie where we saw Ryan Reynolds play Michael Bryce, a AAA rank bodyguard who runs into Darius Kincaid, a contract killer played by Samuel L. Jackson, who must arrive in The Hague to testify against a worldwide wanted criminal played by Gary Oldman. In The Hitman's Bodyguard, we saw at one point Darius's wife, Sonia, played by Salma Hayek, who will be extremely relevant in the story of the second installment.

De la mano del director Patrick Hughes, nos llega esta película que reúne a Bryce, quien estaba tomándose un año sabático luego de perder su licencia de guardaespaldas por proteger a un asesino en serie, con Kincaid, esta vez a petición (más bien orden) de Sonia, la esposa de Darius. El villano es Aristóteles Papadopulos, un griego multimillonario que, tras ver a su amada Grecia sumida en sanciones impuestas por la Unión Europea, decide vengarse de toda Europa y que Grecia sea el bastión del continente.

From the hand of director Patrick Hughes, comes this film that reunites Bryce, who was taking a year off after losing his bodyguard license for protecting a serial killer, with Kincaid, this time on request (rather order) of Sonia, Darius' wife. The villain is Aristotle Papadopulos, a Greek billionaire who, after seeing his beloved Greece plunged into sanctions imposed by the European Union, decides to take revenge on all of Europe and make Greece the bastion of the continent.

Esta película mezcla muy bien la acción con la comedia y el drama, ya que pasamos de escenas con explosiones, disparos, apuñalamientos y muertes, a las risas por los chistes de Darius o las acciones o reacciones de Sonia o Michael, e incluso el spanglish de Sonia al ser mejicana. No nos podemos dejar engañar por esta película, ya que toca temas muy particulares como la depresión, por la pérdida de la licencia de Bryce, la familia y las dificultades de la misma, representada por Sonia y Darius, así como el afrontar eventos traumáticos en la vida.

This film mixes action with comedy and drama very well, as we go from scenes with explosions, shootings, stabbings and deaths, to laughter at Darius' jokes or the actions or reactions of Sonia or Michael, and even spanglish of Sonia being Mexican. We cannot be fooled by this film, as it touches on very particular issues such as depression, the loss of Bryce's license, the family and its difficulties, represented by Sonia and Darius, as well as dealing with traumatic events in life.

🗣 Opiniones/Opinions 🗣

La película es muy buena. Risas y acción de inicio a fin, y me pareció muy interesante como en la película del 2017 mostraron a Sonia, un guiño a la secuela, e hicieron el puente para el inicio de esta película. También me gustó mucho cómo desarrollan a los personajes, ya que conocemos un poco más a profundidad a nuestro equipo protagonista, en especial a Bryce.

The movie is very good. Laughter and action from start to finish, and I found it very interesting how in the 2017 movie they showed Sonia, a nod to the sequel, and made the bridge to the beginning of this movie. I also really liked how they develop the characters, as we get to know our main team a little more in depth, especially Bryce.

Algo que destaca mucho en la película es el mantener a tres grandes estrellas cinematográficas como Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson y Salma Hayek, además de incluir actores famosos y excelentes como Antonio Banderas, quien es Aristóteles; Morgan Freeman quien representa al papá de Bryce; y Gabriella Wright, secuaz de Aristóteles. Todos hicieron su trabajo a la perfección, en especial Freeman en su papel de padrastro de Bryce, quien luego de un giro inesperado, toma un rol principal en la trama.

Something that stands out a lot in the film is keeping three great movie stars like Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek, in addition to including famous and excellent actors like Antonio Banderas, who is Aristotle; Morgan Freeman who represents Bryce's dad; and Gabriella Wright, Aristotle's henchman. Everyone did their job to perfection, especially Freeman in his role as Bryce's stepfather and, whom after an unexpected twist, takes a leading role in the plot.

🗣 Comentarios finales/Final comments 🗣

Duro de Cuidar 2 nos presenta a un Michael Bryce no tan letal, en busca de paz mental y en un período de autodescubrimiento para sobrellevar el dolor que le causó el retiro de su licencia como guardaespaldas. Su evolución se notará en el aspecto personal, ya que veremos cómo lucha contra su depresión y nos explican muchas cosas de su pasado que lo llevaron a ser quien es hoy en día. Darius y Sonia siguen sin fallar una bala a su objetivo, pero podemos ver su lado más humano al ver cómo llevan su relación como el resto, con problemas y discusiones, pero también vemos cómo hablando resuelven las cosas y cómo el amor que se tienen es más grande que cualquier otro sentimiento. Muchos mensajes escondidos tras explosiones, muertes y humor, pero que no pasan desapercibidos.

Hitman's wife's bodyguard introduces us to a not-so-lethal Michael Bryce, in search of peace of mind and in a period of self-discovery to cope with the pain caused by the removal of his license as a bodyguard. His evolution will be noticed in the personal aspect, since we will see how he fights against his depression and they explain many things about his past that led him to be who he is today. Darius and Sonia continue without missing a bullet to their target, but we can see their human side by seeing how they carry their relationship like the rest, with problems and arguments, but we also see how talking they solve things up and how the love they have is bigger than any other feeling. Many messages hidden under explosions, deaths and humor, but that do not go unnoticed.
