Hello Movie Lovers. It's week #56 on #cinetv The theme proposed for this week is to give a review of a favorite movie related to heist and the movie I will be sharing is titled;
DEN OF THIEVES (2018)

Den of Thieves (released in some countries as Criminal Squad) is a 2018 American heist action film starring;
Gerard Butler as Detective Nick O'Brien
Pablo Schreiber as Ray Merrimen
O'Shea Jackson Jr. as Donnie Wilson
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson as Enson Levoux
Den Of Thieves is a movie that shows how a group prepares to rob the heavily guarded Federal Reserve: with approximately $30 million in old bills removed from circulation each day, they plan to steal the untraceable money before it is shredded.
My View On The Movie
Unlike some heist movies, that I have seen where I think Justice should be served especially when there is an hostage situation. I feel different about this movie as I am in support of the Robbers here because the bank they are going to rob wants to shred the money which makes the money they are after the kind "no one would be looking for"

Detective Nick O'Brien was hell-bent on getting the criminals, at some point I was like "why go through all this trouble if they are just going to shred the money if you get it back ? Well I guess no matter what robbery is a vice that must be eradicated and he made it clear he will bring them to Justice. It was a bit sad he didn't get the real masterminds behind the heist but at least he got a bit of Justice by killing Ray Merrimen and some of his crew. After all is said and done, he was told all the currency at the Federal Reserve has been accounted for, so it was as if the robbery did not happen.

Donnie Wilson's is one character that surprised me. There is no way I would have believed he was the real mastermind behind the heist. I think the reason he was able to get away with it was because he wasn't hungry for power. He brought the job but he didn't act like it, infact he more or less acted insignificant. His character gave me some insight to how some people behave in the real world. Sometimes it is the quiet ones we need to watch out for, they may seem calm and gentle outwardly but inward they can be very dangerous. He proves himself to be very smart at disguising and he did picked his crew well.

Ray Merrimen gave the whole "Alpha" vibe. Well he is the leader of the group and had to act tough but he was brought down because he never knew it's not about acting all tough and macho but it's by working smart. I wonder what Ray would have done to Donnie Wilson had the former survived the shootout.
Den of thieves is worth watching and I think you would learn a thing or two from it.
The movie was said to be inspired by a real-life attempt to rob the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles.
