I really wish I liked this one. I really do. Hollywood’s first attempt at a total reboot of the Godzilla franchise back in 1998 stars Matthew Broderick and is directed by the team behind Independence Day.

And it is just not good.

Bad dialogue, special effects that do not hold up, humour that isn’t funny. A story that purports to reinvent Godzilla for the nineties. It just doesn’t work.

I didn’t bother finishing it. I went to my room, wrote this and am heading to bed.

Skip it.
