I can’t decide what I think of Hollow Man. Directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Kevin Bacon, Elisabeth Shue and Josh Brolin, Hollow Man is the story of a guy who turns himself invisible and can’t turn back. He kind of goes insane and does all sorts of bad stuff while his colleagues try to reverse things.

It’s kind of creepy but not in a “chills and thrills” kind of way. It’s far from a good film and I can’t figure out if there is something deeper being explored. With Verhoeven there sometimes is, whether it’s something about man’s base nature or is it just an attempt to make a creepy horror/thriller. Either way, the creepy is stronger than the thrills in this one.

I think the fact that I’m still trying to think this one through means it’s either really good or really bad and I can’t figure out which.
