I haven't seen anything in the past few weeks that has caught my attention. But yesterday my son put on this series, and although we know Sherlock Holmes from different stories, this one introduces a new character: a daughter appears, something unexpected that he receives with suspicion.
The TV series currently has one season and eight episodes. Sherlock Holmes is dealing with the kidnapping of his best friend, Dr. Watson, and his housekeeper. Suddenly, this somewhat mysterious young woman from the United States appears, telling him that after her mother's murder, she discovered that he is her father. She reveals this behind an old photograph.
The young American woman, Amelia, demonstrates a quick wit and keen observation skills, and she joins in the search for her father, getting into some trouble due to her curiosity and inexperience.

We follow a more mature Sherlock Holmes (played by David Thewlis, Professor Lupin in Harry Potter), who must collaborate with Amelia Rojas (Blu Hunt), a young American woman who travels to London after her mother's murder. She believes Holmes is her biological father because an old photograph suggests it. They join forces to investigate a global conspiracy and the mystery of her mother's death. Of course, Professor James Moriarty, played by Dougray Scott, also makes an appearance.

We have plenty of mystery, crimes, hidden clues, betrayals, intrigue, robberies, and deaths as we accompany these characters to uncover an entire international conspiracy trying to neutralize Holmes's involvement, because he already has a reputation for uncovering plots.

The new Sherlock Holmes series, with its slightly toned-down tone, is a welcome change given the presence of a daughter. While it features period costumes, classic manners, early telephones, and plenty of intelligence, Holmes now also has a daughter who complicates his life, forcing him to constantly watch out for her to avoid getting into trouble and getting killed.

We'll see how the series develops; at least it's quite entertaining, and you have to keep up with the clues that emerge as they uncover the conspiracy, the key to which is a red thread. I've enjoyed this series this week, and I recommend it if you like mysteries.
