A Movie Review on "Friends With Benefits" Directed by Will Gluck [ENG-ESP]

Since, I’m still in the spirit of watching movies that were produced about eight years ago, so I decided to write another write-up on another recent movie I watched called “Friends With Benefits” starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. If you have been following up with my articles, you will notice that I also did a movie review on The Amazing Spider-Man II, which is another movie that is more than five years old. Okay, so this time I wasn’t persuaded by the comments from my friends “you haven’t watched this movie” or the romantic entanglement between the lead characters in real life, although there was romance in the movie mixed with a lot of comedy. And I must that I’m now an official fan of Justin Timberlake after watching the movie “In Time” where he put up a brilliant performance.

Friends with Benefits is an American romantic comedy movie produced in 2011 in which Justin Timberlake plays Dylan Harper and Mila Kunis plays Jamie Rellis. Both individuals meet in New York City and develop an insane ideology that getting sexually intimate wouldn’t affect their friendship as long as they remain casual about it. And trust me it definitely got complicated cause as expected when feelings and emotions got involved. The movie was a cool success at the box office grossing in a total 149.5 million dollars on a film budget of 35 million dollars. The movie was phenomenal in the aspect of comedy because of the outstanding from Mila Kunis which gave the movie two nomination at the People’s Choice Awards for favourite comedy movie and favourite comic actress (Mila Kunis).

I can say the movie is quite unique and different from most romantic comedy movies due to the way the characters were exceptional with their acting, they actually acted out the true reality of how things could get complicated between friends and even what happens when you also try to ignore the feelings as well.

The movie begins with Dylan coming to New York City to get a scoop of the city before accepting a job opportunity in the city. While staying in the city Dylan gets to meet Jamie who works for as a head-hunter for the magazine company that plans to employ Dylan. Jamie’s job as a headhunter which is kind of like a recruiter for a company ties her contract up with Dylan’s decision to stay in the city and accept the job. So she tries her best to convince Dylan to stay in New York city by showing him cool places in the city and her favourite spot in the city as well. Gradually through the time they get to spend together in the city, they bring to build a strong friendship bond which convinces Dylan to accept the job on a contract of one whole year. From time to time they bring to talk to each other a lot, spend time together and even talk about their failed passed relationships and weird dating experiences. Through this, they came up with the idea that getting sexual involved should not be complicated and can not affect their friendship as long as they keep it straight with one another and no feelings involved. But as always, it didn’t work out as they expected because they began to gain feelings for one another but they didn’t just notice it in time until one person does something trhat hurts the other person.

I must say I enjoyed every bit of the movie because the acting was so real, hilarious and it’s absolutely based on what really happens in real life between friends.

So I put it to you, if you haven’t watched “Friends with Benefits”, then what are you waiting for? Go ahead and watch it, you won’t regret it.

Debo decir que disfruté cada pedazo de la película porque la actuación fue muy real, hilarante y está absolutamente basada en lo que realmente sucede en la vida real entre amigos.

Así que si no has visto "Friends with Benefits", ¿a qué esperas? Ve a verla, no te arrepentirás.
