Hello everyone, how are you doing today? It's been a while since i wrote about a movie I've seen. The last time was when i watched "Man On Fire" which i wrote about immediately.

I bet this is the question you would ask yourself immediately after watching this movie. While "Jumper" might not have been the appropriate name for this movie, the movie is in my opinion very interesting, and in this article, I would give you three reasons why i enjoyed it.

If you've read ever my thoughts on any movie, you'd notice that i don't give much spoilers, because i want you to watch and enjoy it the way i did. I also particularly write about movies i enjoyed.

What's Exactly Is jumper About

Is it just about a guy that can teleport? Is that all the movie was about? Before you get my thoughts on this, here is what you might find if you type "Jumper" on Google.

"A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. While he uses his powers to rob banks, he comes to the attention of the Paladins who intend to kill him".

Well, pretty simple. Now here comes my thoughts. I hope after reading this, you would consider giving your time to this movie.

1. Visual Effects.

For a movie that was released in 2008, this movie has nice visuals which i find really nice. You can imagine that since there would be a lot of teleportation, the visuals had to be great. The action scenes seemed very clear and you can see some of the teleportation scars.

Movies that were shot in the last decade lacked quality. Especially those ones that has too many actions scenes. The VFX of this movie seemed actually good, compared to even some movies in 2018 and 2019.

You can say that some movies released recently might not be interesting. However, some people enjoy them because of the nice visuals. Alot of money is spent into these things.

A very great example is the "man on fire" movie I talked about last. It was a great movie with a touching storyline, however the visuals were poor.

2. Interesting Characters.

Hayden Christensen played the role of David rice.

Rachel Bilson Was Millie Harris

Samuel L. Jackson starred as Roland Cox

I'm so weird that if i don't like a character especially the lead character, I could stop watching a movie instantly. That's why most times, I search for movies based on characters i love. I got this one looking for Samuel.L. Jackson's movies.

Aside from his hair colour which i find really funny and dump. Samuel.L.Jackson did well in this movie. He played the role of Roland who was the main antagonist of the movie. He was a paladin(people who are trained to kill jumpers). He had so much authority in the way he acted that you might mistake paladins to have more powers than the actual jumpers.

The other characters did well also, hayden and Rachel who played David rice and millie Harris respectively were awesome.

David rice was the main jumper (as we later discovered there were others). Millie harris was his crush. She was unaware of his abilities. All David wanted was to take her to places she has always dreamt of as a child without her knowing he had those powers. They both acted their roles well in my opinion.

3. StoryLine

You might figure out quick what the movie is all about. However, you might have it very difficult to predict what happens next in the movie. They writers did well to unfold the events in such a way that would keep you on the edge of your seat.

Many critics are of the opinion that the movie is confusing and there are many un explained events. However, I totally disagree as the movie was totally understandable and enjoyable to me.

In Conclusion...

This are the reasons why i find jumper interesting. Maybe i could add the fact that it started with a narration by the lead character. I love movies that begin with narrations as i always want to begin the movie with some sort of understanding and connection.
