I use to think i have watched all the interesting movies from the year 2000 till date. I then saw a short clip on my feed, with Denzel Washington saying those words! And I'm like...
How exactly did i miss this movie?
Immediately i inquired the title and straight up, I bookmarked it to watch later. I believe this is arguably the most interesting and emotional movie ever.
In this article, I would do my best to tell you why i enjoyed the movie without giving spoilers. So, yes! You can watch the movie in suspense even after reading this.
MAN ON FIRE
For a film about kidnapping and revenge, Man of fire is far from predictable. It was set in Mexico city. If you read my blog, you would know that i love mexico and i love the Spanish culture. I give preference to Spanish movies, maybe because i want to get better at the language or because i love it alot. Normally kidnapping and revenge movies involves some familiar plot, but man on fire is different. From the start to the end, I was left wondering what would happen next.
The movie was directed by Tony Scott, it involved a man named John creasy who was hired to protect a nine year old girl named Pita Ramos. Yes! Like you probably guessed now,pita Ramos was kidnapped. I believe that maybe the only thing that would be easy to guess as the story portrays lot of crimes,betrayal and deaths.
John creasy was a former US marine and CIA officer. However, he had a terrible drinking habits and have lived a life he regretted. Offered this job, he must protect the life of Pita Ramos.
I enjoyed this movie for some reasons which i am going to highlight now. I guess i still feel so emotional writing this now.
1. The Relationship Between Denzel Washington & Dakota Fanning

Denzel Washington played the role of John creasy while Dakota fanning was Pita Ramos.
I'm a fan of Denzel, he never disappoints and the this movie was no exception. I didn't even recognize Dalota fanning as she was 10 years old playing this role.
This was the most intriguing thing about the movie. How a cold, sad John creasy was able to find joy and happiness in young pita Ramos. As a young character, I didn't expect so much sharpness and confidence from her. It was indeed their relationship that made me so emotional and teary about the movie.
She was determined to make the sad man feel livelier even though all he wanted was to protect her and nothing more.
"It is my job to protect you and not to be your friend"
Those words he said to both her and her mother.
Talking about her parents, the movie depicted her father and mother to be in serious trouble. No spoilers remember?
That makes more sense as you wouldn't need a bodyguard if you are safe right?
Well, the bodyguard and the little girl's relationship is one of the reasons I'm recommending you to watch this movie.
2. FIRE , FIRE , FIRE
While the editing might not be top notch, I love the action scenes, there was a lot of fireworks.
In a movie with lot of crimes and death, it is expected to have gunshots and different methods of killings. I enjoyed this one because, it was mostly done through explosives. Bombs everywhere, they really sticked to the theme lol.
The man was really on fire!

3. No Unnecessary Detail
I hate movies that start adding things that are not needed, especially some weird kind of throwbacks in the middle of action.
It could be annoying for me
Man on Fire is straight to action, no cutting corners, no unnecessary flash back and all that. Even with the past life of John creasy a mystery, the movie didn't waste time trying to explain all those details.
It focused on leading you on an emotional and direct path which i believe is quite amazing.This is what i love to see in movies. I believe when you watch it, you will understand what am talking about.

¿Cómo me he perdido esta película?
Inmediatamente pregunté por el título y, directamente, lo marqué para verlo más tarde. Creo que se trata de la película más interesante y emotiva de la historia.
En este artículo, voy a hacer todo lo posible para decir por qué me gustó la película sin dar spoilers. Así que, ¡sí! Puedes ver la película en suspenso incluso después de leer esto.
MAN ON FIRE
Para ser una película sobre secuestro y venganza, Hombre de fuego está lejos de ser predecible. Está ambientada en la ciudad de México. Si lees mi blog, sabrás que me encanta México y la cultura española. Doy preferencia a las películas españolas, tal vez porque quiero mejorar el idioma o porque me gusta mucho. Normalmente las películas de secuestros y venganzas tienen una trama conocida, pero Man on Fire es diferente. Desde el principio hasta el final, me quedé preguntando qué pasaría después.
La película fue dirigida por Tony Scott, involucraba a un hombre llamado John creasy que era contratado para proteger a una niña de nueve años llamada Pita Ramos. Sí. Como probablemente adivinaron ahora, Pita Ramos fue secuestrada. Creo que eso es lo único que sería fácil de adivinar ya que la historia retrata muchos crímenes, traiciones y muertes.
John Creasy era un ex marine estadounidense y oficial de la CIA. Sin embargo, tenía unos terribles hábitos de bebida y había vivido una vida de la que se arrepentía. Cuando se le ofrece este trabajo, debe proteger la vida de Pita Ramos.
Disfruté de esta película por algunas razones que voy a destacar ahora. Creo que todavía me siento muy emocionado al escribir esto ahora.
1. La relación entre Denzel Washington y Dakota Fanning
Denzel Washington interpretó el papel de John creasy mientras que Dakota fanning fue Pita Ramos.
Soy fan de Denzel, nunca decepciona y esta película no fue una excepción. Ni siquiera reconocí a Dalota fanning ya que tenía 10 años interpretando este papel.
Esto fue lo más intrigante de la película. Como un John creasy frío y triste fue capaz de encontrar alegría y felicidad en la joven pita Ramos. Siendo un personaje joven, no me esperaba tanta agudeza y confianza en ella. De hecho, fue su relación lo que me hizo emocionarme y llorar con la película.
Ella se empeñó en hacer que el hombre triste se sintiera más vivo aunque lo único que quería era protegerla y nada más.
"Mi trabajo es protegerte y no ser tu amigo"
Esas palabras se las dijo a ella y a su madre.
Hablando de sus padres, la película mostraba a su padre y a su madre en serios problemas. No hay spoilers, ¿recuerdas?
Eso tiene más sentido, ya que no necesitarías un guardaespaldas si estás a salvo, ¿verdad?
Bueno, la relación entre el guardaespaldas y la niña es una de las razones por las que te recomiendo que veas esta película.
2. FUEGO , FUEGO , FUEGO
Aunque el montaje no sea de lo mejor, me encantan las escenas de acción, había muchos fuegos artificiales.
En una película con muchos crímenes y muertes, se espera que haya disparos y diferentes métodos de asesinatos. Disfruté de esta porque, en su mayoría, se hizo a través de explosivos. Bombas por todos lados, realmente se apegaron al tema lol.
¡El hombre estaba realmente en llamas!

3. Ningún detalle innecesario
Odio las películas que empiezan a añadir cosas que no son necesarias, sobre todo algún tipo de tirón raro en medio de la acción.
Puede ser molesto para mí
Man on Fire va directo a la acción, sin recortes, sin flash back innecesarios y todo eso. Incluso con la vida pasada de John creasy un misterio, la película no perdió el tiempo tratando de explicar todos esos detalles.
Se centró en llevarte por un camino emocional y directo que creo que es bastante sorprendente.Esto es lo que me gusta ver en las películas. Creo que cuando la veas, entenderás de lo que estoy hablando.
