Relations

Miki Makimura: Akira was deeply in love with Miki, even affirming him at the end of the series. Each one showed genuine concern and affection towards each other. He protected her against people like Koji Nagasaki and Ryo because they could have harmed her or taken advantage of her. It was very evident that Miki was Akira's main hope for humanity.

Ryo Asuka: Akira also valued his relationship with Ryo very much, seeing him as one of his best friends. Occasionally, Akira even joked and even pushed Ryo to do activities for fun. Despite this, he and Ryo often enter into major disagreements, including how Ryo was willing to harm and kill someone to further his plans and protect Akira's identity. Even then, Akira trusted Ryo to end his life if he ever turned completely like a demon.

Abilities

Before his transformation, Akira was not very physically impressive, being the slowest member of the Kamigami athletic club.

After becoming Devilman, his body was upgraded to superhuman levels. In his human state, he was able to run at very high speeds, faster than professional athletes. His strength increased to be able to open closed doors and defeat five thugs with one arm.

Like Devilman, his strength, speed and reflexes allow him to cross enemies before they even have the chance to react. Its mandibular strength alone is capable of tearing the flesh from the bodies. Its claws allow you to cut enemies easily. The wings on your head can also improve your hearing, allowing you to detect incoming projectiles based on sounds and air pressure. The wings on his back could slow down Devilman's fall, allow a big jump in the air, as well as glide and fly long distances. Devilman also manifests different abilities depending on situations, including elastic limbs, night vision and increased body temperature to the point of causing Ghelmer to evaporate or even use it to cause an explosion.

Biography

Akira was born of doctors Reijiro and Kaori Fudō. While still living with them, Akira had a decent childhood. When they had to go away due to their professions, Akira was left in the care of Kaori's friends, the Makimura family. Akira often acted as a member of the family, especially towards Taro. At some point, Akira met the young Ryo Asuka and befriended him despite Ryo's coldness towards life. Akira finally enrolled in Kamigaku joining the athletic team despite being his slowest member.

Curiosities

When Kaim had Akira focused on a monitor, the data showed that his date of birth was September 8, 1994. He also stated that Akira was 16 years old.

This would mean that the events of the series would have taken place somewhere in 2010 and beyond, although this is contradicted when we see Donald Trump in the US presidential seat. (if it is supposed to be he or only a reference), that was not elected until 2016. In the shortest possible time, his birth should be September 8, 2000 to have 16 years in the series and have Donald Trump as president of the United States, without creating a gap in the plot.
