[ESP/ENG] Comentario breve sobre VAMPIROS EN LA HABANA/ Brief Commentary on VAMPIROS IN HAVANA.

Review by @sangoro97 · 1788d · of Vampires in Havana

. Hello, Hive Community! Today I want to share with you a brief commentary on an animated film I recently saw called VAMPIROS EN LA HABANA, directed by Juan Padrón in 1985 and considered one of the most important Latin American animations, which is not surprising coming from Cuba, a country with one of the most outstanding cinematographies of the continent.

VAMPIROS EN LA HABANA tells the story of Pepe, a young half-vampire, descendant of Dracula himself, who must prevent a formula created by his uncle, which could allow vampires to walk under the light of day, from falling into the wrong hands.

The film is an animation for adults, as it is full of sexual jokes, violence, rudeness and social criticism as it is set in a dictatorship. The drawing style, the movements of the characters and the story are very reminiscent of the works of Ralph Bakshi, the greatest exponent of this type of animation; as well as handling a frenetic pace that keeps you on the lookout for action, freshness and warmth typical of Latin American cinema; making VAMPIROS EN LA HABANA a film to admire and very entertaining to watch, although not recommended for the little ones in the house.

That was all for today. Thank you very much for reading. Here is the link so you can enjoy this movie (with English subtitles): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6qQy4EBfiM&t=161s
