They have to be sponsored regardless. They have to be "imposed" on their friends. They are series that last very little (6 episodes of 20 minutes). They are very enjoyable thanks to the comedy component. They have an actor, a character like Ricky Gervais who is one of the 10 people for whom the ticket price is never too expensive. Whether you're a sunny person or a chronic "depressed", a sad or perpetually happy person, in search of happiness or disappointed in life, in any case you'll find in this show something that speaks of you or rather that speaks to you. After Life, even in its second season, confirms itself capable of touching emotional strings that you didn't even know you possess. The verve of Ricky Gervais is fundamental to gently take you to the emotional mountains of a character who, having lost his wife, has lost the joy of living.
A journey into the pain of a sunny person.
Precisely for this reason, an intimate and authentic journey, far away from clichés and preconceptions, from stupid and banal circumstances already seen and acquired. Che gioiello After Life. Che genio Ricky Gervais. Certe cose vanno dette immediatamente. Non c'è scusa che tenga. Serie tv come questa vanno amate a prescindere. Vanno sponsorizzate a prescindere. Vanno "imposte" ai propri amici. Sono serie che durano pochissimo (6 episodi da 20 minuti). Sono godibilissime grazie alla componente comedy. Hanno un attore, un personaggio come Ricky Gervais che è una delle 10 persone per cui il prezzo del biglietto non è mai troppo costoso. Che voi siate delle persone solari o dei "depressi" cronici, delle persone tristi o perennemente felici, in cerca della felicità o delusi dalla vita, in ogni caso troverete in questo show qualcosa che parla di voi o meglio che parla a voi. After Life, anche nella sua seconda stagione, si conferma capace di toccare delle corde emotive che non sapevate neppure di possedere. La verve di Ricky Gervais è fondamentale per portarvi con delicatezza sulle montagne emotive di un personaggio che, persa la moglie, ha perso la gioia di vivere.
Un viaggio nel dolore di una persona solare.
Proprio per questo un viaggio intimo e autentico, lontano da frasi fatte e preconcetti, da stupide e banali circostanze già viste e acquisite. E' un racconto che spezza il cuore perchè viene da chi è consapevole della propria condizione e non vuole nasconderla, da chi vorrebbe tanto continuare a vivere, a vivere felice ma che non riesce a farlo, nonostante gli sforzi. La morte della moglie ha portato via un pezzo importante. Restano i ricordi a cui aggrapparsi ma spesso sono proprio quei ricordi a non permetterti di andare avanti, di essere forte, di raggiungere una nuova condizione di accettabile felicità. Morte e amore, amicizia e indifferenza, altruismo ed egoismo. Il tutto raccontato con quell'ironia e quel sarcasmo alla Gervais che non potete non apprezzare. E' intelligente, attuale, pungente, irriverente e forse proprio per questo sa far male e sa far bene a tutti. Fa ridere e commuovere. Un piccolissimo e necessario capolavoro da non trascurare.
