Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.
Amanti del giallo sono qui per voi oggi. Avete netflix? Ho trovato qualcosa che fa per voi. Dai. Che bravo che sono. Contenti?
Pieces of Her è uno dei mille mila titoli presenti sul catalogo Netflix. Nasce e cresce nel 2022 e tocca raccontarlo in minimo visto che, in fondo, male male non è anche se, vi avviso, queste first impression rimarranno tali perchè ho deciso, a tutela della mia salute mentale, di non andare oltre il pilot. Frammenti di lei (come è stata tradotta in italiano) è una serie che è tratta dall'omonimo romanzo del 2018 di Karin Slaughter, autrice che, in tutta onestà, non avevo mai sentito nominare prima d'ora ma che, a quanto pare, ha venduto oltre 40 milioni di copie con i suoi 21 libri e risulta essere una filantropa di buona fama. Cosi. Per cultura generale. Venendo allo show di Netflix, la protagonista, o oserei dire la mattatrice è Toni Collette, una che forse non ricorderete dal nome ma che dal volto, son certo, tenderete a rimembrare.
Siamo travolti da numerosi titoli. Centinaia e centinaia all'anno. Una cinquantina risulteranno, per un motivo o per un altro, imperdibili, un paio entreranno nell'olimpo, degli altri potremo anche dimenticarci. E allora è giusto dare uno sguardo a tutto quello che si può ma è anche giusto che, basandoci anche su voti, commenti e opinioni altrui (verificate e stimate dal sottoscritto) alcune serie, soprattutto se accolto tiepidamente dopo la visione dei primi episodi (sempre dal sottoscritto), subiscano un anticipato saluto (ancora una volta dal sottoscritto). Nulla vieta, però, che, qualora abbiate un debole per la Collette o per i buoni thriller, decidiate di andare avanti.
Trattasi, appunto, di thriller, di un buon thriller che parte da un evento che viene mostrato in tutta la sua crudezza. Accanto alla Colette vi è una sorta di co-protagonista, interpretrata da Bella Heathcote. Le 2 protagoniste assistono ad un omicidio. Sedute. Impotenti. Diventano testimoni di qualcosa di cruento e orribile. Quel qualcosa di cruento e orribile non diventa una strage solo perchè una delle 2 donne riesce ad evitarlo. Come? Bloccando l'aggressore con una prontezza di riflessi ed una tenacia tipiche di chi quel tipo di cose, quel tipo di situazioni le ha già vissute mille volte. E qui il punto di svolta da cui tutto parte (pensavate che fosse l'evento cruento ed orribile il centro di tutto, vero? Eh no..). L'eroina, la nostra eroina, non è una poliziotta, ne tantomeno una maestra di arti marziali e non è certo un agente della CIA. La nostra eroina è una logopedista. E dunque, la domanda che nasce spontanea è: come diavolo ha fatto una logopedista a fermare un assassino in piena foga e follia omicida? Ed eccovi il giallo. Servito su un piatto d'argento. Vi ha ingolosito? Continuate la visione. Sono solo 8 episodi e se questo vi basta per spendere 6-7 ore su Netflix, chi sono io per fermarvi?

Pieces of Her is one of the thousand thousand titles in the Netflix catalog. Born and raised in 2022, it has to be told in minimum since, after all, it's not bad even if, I warn you, these first impressions will remain so because I decided, for the protection of my mental health, not to go beyond the pilot. Fragments of Her (as it has been translated into Italian) is a series that is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Karin Slaughter, an author who, in all honesty, I had never heard of before but who, apparently, has sold over 40 million copies with her 21 books and turns out to be a philanthropist of good repute. So. For general culture. Coming to the Netflix show, the protagonist, or dare I say the star, is Toni Collette, someone you may not remember from her name but from her face, I'm sure, you tend to remember.
We are overwhelmed by numerous titles. Hundreds and hundreds per year. About fifty of them will be, for one reason or another, unmissable, a couple of them will enter the Olympus, the others we could forget. So it is right to take a look at everything you can but it is also right that, based also on votes, comments and opinions of others (verified and estimated by me) some series, especially if received lukewarmly after watching the first episodes (again by me), suffer an early farewell (again by me). Nothing prohibits, however, that if you have a weakness for the Collette or for good thrillers, you decide to go ahead.
This is, in fact, a thriller, a good thriller that starts from an event that is shown in all its rawness. Next to Colette there is a sort of co-protagonist, played by Bella Heathcote. The 2 protagonists witness a murder. Sitting. Powerless. They become witnesses to something bloody and horrible. That something bloody and horrible does not become a massacre only because one of the 2 women manages to avoid it. How? By blocking the aggressor with a quickness of reflexes and a tenacity typical of those who have already experienced that kind of thing, that kind of situation a thousand times. And here is the turning point from which everything starts (you thought that the bloody and horrible event was the center of everything, didn't you? Eh no.). The heroine, our heroine, is not a policewoman, nor a master of martial arts and certainly not a CIA agent. Our heroine is a speech therapist. And so, the question that arises is: how the hell did a speech therapist stop a murderer in full heat and homicidal madness? And there you have the murder mystery. Served up on a silver platter. Did it tempt you? Keep watching. It's only 8 episodes and if that's enough for you to spend 6-7 hours on Netflix, who am I to stop you?
